I'm in a $33 dollar buy in tournament and I'm been getting awful cards for the past few rounds. Everybody's been betting out and raising, there hasn't been an opportune moment to play small ball. I get AK and decide to raise/shove. In 5 min the blinds would increase to 125/250 and I would basically have to look for a spot to shove. I decided this would be a good opportunity, which then I can wait til all the bad players get eliminated and then start playing small ball.

you've got 19BB left. I think it's too early to be shoving it, especially into a 3-way pot, without a made hand.... you only have ace high. If it was just the 77 you were against, then you're a 55-45% underdog (most likely you'll be in a situation where you're up against a lower pair).. but... in a 3-way pot, your odds go down to 37% win.

Only winning about 1/3 of the time, you can find a better situation to get your chips into. You still had plenty of blinds left (15bb even after the next time the blinds go up). You're going to be in that situation alot in tournies and what you don't want to do is to push too early.... be patient until you can get your chips into a better situation (one you know you're ahead).
