  • AQ with 12bb to come.

So I'm playing the sunday storm and its the middle phase of the tournament, the blinds are about to increase in 2 min and I get myself in this hands. I was thinking since the blinds are going to increase to 150/300 and my stack will be 12bb I decided to chip it all in now. Was this a wrong decision? or was it okay to chip it

First, you're not ITM and need to be accumulating chips to get ITM, then for a deep run.

With your first raise, I'd have done one of two things.... either raised a bit more or made the initial push. Either way, you're going to be in the same situation because they are calling a push with a pkt pair. The basically min raise back from them says pocket pair to me (probably a small to mid pkt pair). The one and only way I'm letting go of this is if the opponent is playing extremely tight and I put them on AA, KK or AK.

You're isolated against only 1 opponent and with 2 high cards, more often than not, you're going to be in a race against an underpair. If you're going to win any tourney, you need to win some race situations.

Unfortunately, you got unlucky and didn't win the race, BUT seeing how you needed to accumulate chips, I don't have a problem with pushing back preflop.
