  • Heads-Up SnGs with HoRRoR - Feedback

    Hey there,

for the people who just listened to my coaching, i'd like to get a little feedback on that.

A small feedback on the language part, for me as a non native speaker, if my language was ok for you or if you guys would very much prefer someone with a better english.

and then on the coaching, if the content was ok, if you like more theory or whatever things you feel like should be improved

and sorry for the german presentations as i already said, had some problems with the english ones

First off, every German I have talked to apolgizes for their English and they always turn out to speak
way better than you thought they would. So no issue there, good job!

I have to say that for a Heads Up training session I was left hoping you will
be going into more strategy in your next videos. Due to the amount of people in chat it was impossible to get any questions answered and I wasnt sure if you where responding to me
when you said you would not be going into to much detail. After that I left, since I have watched
enough bankroll videos and didnt need to watch myself play..lol!! Meaning sit back and fold till I get something decent.
Nitting up at the $1.50 level is pretty much standard,so I hope in the future you move up at least one level to show better villain play and more tough spots.

End of the day I am happy we finally have a HUSNG trainer and hope you get more advanced in the next videos.

Hi Andre, I enjoyed your training today. umbup: I was asked to evaluate your english for potential future live training on this platform. I thought it was good! While English is not your native tongue, that's ok imo as long as you can successfully meet 2 points: 1- Your English is good enough to understand. (no problem there, it was quite good) 2- You are able to effectively communicate poker concepts and discussions in English. (again I felt this was no problem... every concept or poker play topic you discussed was clear and understandable). I was very happy to see both these points not being a problem at all, and feel your English will not be an obstacle to having you conduct more sessions here on PSO. Thanks, Dave

Andre can answer this more specifically, but I think that's the general intent cookies. From the class description on the registration page:

We will start at the lowest Limit, which are currently 1.50$ Heads-Up and we will start with the basics, Hand ranges, how to play Preflop & Postflop, Bankroll Management and then will slowly get to the point where we will become more aggressive and adapt more to the opponent.

You are misreading my post,I was there for most of the session.
I left when I realized he would not be talking any strategy and that was late in the session.
It wasnt a slag on him but more a point about having smaller groups for this advanced
                poker game.

Maybe setting up a requirement since the sessions are going to turn into "what was your biggest score"? and questions that should really be figured out by now for most players if they are thinking about playing HUSNGs. Just my opinion.

#1 stop the insults and name calling, it will not be tolerated at PSO and certainly I will not have it in the Live Training forum.

#2 This doesn't really belong in Andre's feedback thread but since the topic of the extraneous chat has been raised and it was a problem in his class, I will say it here. I would really appreciate it if the participants kept their chat to serious, on topic questions and discussion. There's nothing wrong with having a little fun while we learn, but the individuals that fancy themselves the class clown are going to start finding themselves booted from sessions. It is difficult enough as it is to manage a session when you are playing, discussing your play, and answering questions in the chat box. When you have individuals having comedy hour in the chat, it's disruptive to both the trainer and the rest of the attendees. Show some respect for the trainer. I hope I can count on this not being a problem in the future, if it continues to be one, I will instruct the trainers to start kicking the comedians from the room.

Thanks for your understanding, and if we can keep this thread to feedback for Andre now, I'd appreciate it.

I'll agree with that. I've had to deal with German people and companies alot before and they're all way better with English than they think they are.

Andre, I think your English was very good in the session.

It was just by chance, but you also happened to pick 3 very interesting tables... one maniac, one average player and one better player. I think that was very good, as it shows the wide range of players that you can run into, in a heads-up game.

For a beginner's session, I think you made some very relevant, needed points. Play a wider range in position and don't limp and give away chips. Especially for cash ring and mtt players that don't get to heads-up as often, those are very key concepts, that alot of players do not use.

I look forward to more sessions from you in the future.

to keep it simple, i replied to cookies on PM,

next week i will have a little metting to discuss the future of my trainings here and then i will go on with the concept

basically i will stay a beginners coaching, but maybe there is room for a special coaching once a month, where i maybe will play a good hu sng player of this community and will just play my own game and try to explain it and will try to adapt as good as possible, so one hour playing just 1 guy, so the game can really develop etc and i will get in a much more complex thinking process

therefore i will mainly have to skip most of the questions asked or will maybe do like a 2minute break after each sng and answer questions then or sth

but thats an idea right now, first of all i will have a look at my future here

and yes, i am thankful for every feedback here

now away for 2 days, wish you guys lots of fun on halloween!

                          Lots of potential

I was at Dave's session before this one started, on mailbag questions, (excellent as usual) and only registered for this session at the end of that one knowing it was a 'test session', and also that I would probably not be really concentrating or participating much in the chatbox due to the games I had scheduled to play.

So, whilst I was multitabling elsewhere on PS, I was mainly just listening to Andre's commentary without always being able to look at the PSO training window.

Andre's English is entirely comprehensible to me, (just as Felix's is), so no worries there. The german accent is no problem, his general English is very good and the poker terminology he uses is the standard we are used to. I'm sure he was a little nervous in his first session, though it didn't show, so would expect him only to improve.

Although I do not play much specialist 2-player heads up sitngos one thing he said particularly struck me. I will have to paraphrase, but this was basically that if we are decent players, whether we play multi-table/single-table sitngos or MTTs, our aim is to win, not just get ITM or make FTs, but actually come first in as many tourneys as we can. To do which, when we get the opportunity, will always require some heads up play. We do get to see heads up play quite often in live training because Chris and Andy often get there in the sitngos, but this is a limited part of those sessions. It looks to be very useful to have full sessions devoted to this specialist element of play.

Hope to see some more sessions like this soon, more valuable lessons from PSO - well done Andre.

                          Good luck all

Your English was fine and I thought it was good introduction to HUSNG.
