  • small pairs

Even in early position I do play all pocket pairs (and sometimes higher suited connectors), but LIMP in with anything below 9's. My reasoning is seeing a cheap flop and hoping for trips. Even if someone makes a min raise and get a lot of callers great, bigger pot for when I do hit. However if Im faced with calling a bet thats like 15-20% of my stack I get sick to my stomach.
#1 is limping here good or bad

#2with a spec hand sm pairs or suited connectors when should i fold pre flop (bet amt. vs. my stack size)

    cheers.

Never open limp, thats when you are the first in the pot.
You will be raised by some one in late position because you are dead money 9 times out of 10.
Its just to obvious what you are doing and its highly exploitable..So dont open limp,if you want to play
    bet your small pair.

A lot of factors for setmining which will happen 1 in 8 hands.
-You need proper odds to begin with and 15x what you are calling preflop is a good guage.
    - You need to know that villain will stack off to your set more than not
    - You need to know that some one in late position is not going to raise you preflop
-You have to remember that you wont always win with a set and set over set happens

So people tend to set mine and not think about what villain will do and just presume they will stack off to them. You see bad players call to set mine with horrible odds and just not think things through.

Dont call anything more than 10% of your stack and if its a tight player make that 5%.

At a table of fish you can sometimes get away with this in EP. If there are skilled players on your left, you are dead money limping in EP with small pairs (as per cookie's post).
