  • Checking raising as bluff on the flop

It is safe to say that check-raising on flops should only be used a semi-bluff or when you have like a top/middle pair and a draw to go along with it (open-ender, open-ender and flush draw, gutshot) for the most part?

    This is not news, but.

Myself I would only check raise if I held a very strong hand and I think the villain has a strong hand he cant put down and I was willing to get all the chips in right then.

I see no reason to bloat the pot if I have a weak pair and a draw.

If the villain is betting then he could be bluffing and you want to keep these hands in his range, if you check raise the villain is only carrying on with hands that beat you 1 pair +draw hands.
