Notable hand from my first Open Skill League tourney. Feedback greatly appreciated

you are almost 150 bb's deep. There is no need to be getting involved with something as marginal as this in the open skill league. Id advise reading up on open league strategy as it plays different from other tournaments and therefore you have to adjust your game.

You are fortunate enough to have built up a big stack for this stage of the tournament. why waste that.

Pre flop when the action comes to me with K10 suited in this tournament this deep im folding. I don't have a problem with the raise in position however. I think all in all that's fine. When you are 3 bet shoved and its called you have to fold. Calling here is really bad. You have a marginal holding at best and the villain no 2 has just flatted the raise. A strong player would flat his monsters here in the hope that you come along for the ride......which you did.

On the flop when he shoves he is over betting the pot which destroys your odds for playing the open ended straight draw. Instant fold. Calling here is bad.

You just shouldn't be getting into these spots in the open skill league shove fest.

Open league tourneys are about one thing and one thing only.... to last as long as possible, in order to accumulate more and more league points for the end of the month leaderboard. With KTs, if I'm going to open it, I'm going to make a standard raise to 2.5BB+1BB for each limper (a standard raise for this blind level). When I get big action behind me, this is an easy muck. I do not have a made hand and cannot take chances in these games. Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.umbup: John (JWK24)
