                Kipling's If is as always a treasure trove for apt quotations...

                Clearly he understood the dangers of being results oriented.

                His advice on bankroll management is not so sound though:

                If you can make one heap of all your winnings
                And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,


                Although in his defence, at least he doesn't advocate moaning about bad beats:

                And lose, and start again at your beginnings
                And never breath a word about your loss;
