  • Playing Pockets

I cannot remember the last time i won a Pot with any pockets. I get KK often and loose 100% of the time , ive been considering simply not playing pockets anymore. Just lost 2 tournaments with KK and TT so I am a little tilted but it's insane how much pockets make you loose. I feel like i make good decisions , on most of the hands except pockets and i only play TT and up. is it Bad if only decide to Play AA's from now on ? Or how the hell should i play these pockets ?

    Hi DimsyC!

There is much more to poker than just a player's cards. Pot odds, stack sizes, opponent's ranges... there are many things that need to be accounted for.

When playing pocket pairs, one key is to make standard bets with them, so that it helps to conceal the strength of your hand. Players that make large bets with better hands and smaller bets with marginal ones are basically turning their cards face up to their opponents... something I always try to avoid.
