  • Should you wait for BB when there are whales at the table?

We're always told to wait on posting the blinds until it's your turn. Posting out of position is a sign of a poor player but I've just been thinking it could be a +EV decision when you have 1 or more whales at the table, especially when their short stacked.

You want their money and if it's gone then someone else will take it. Also when we join a waiting list for a table with the biggest pot (as I normally do), then when we join the table it's sometimes the player who we want to chase that is the bust out player.

I table select to find the juiciest games but am I missing value?

More thoughts that go against the grain.

I'm thinking of sitting down with the minimum buy in at LIMIT. This makes me seem weak but I have auto top up enabled and I keep reloading when needed.

    Any thoughts?

If you have a special reason to not wait for BB then I wouldn't wait. It's just a really bad idea to do it all the time since your basically just burning money.

I don't know much about limit, but in no-limit I always sit down with the maximum so I can win as much as possible.

Sorry, can't help you there, since I basically play Zoom and never play Limit.

But when I do play regular tables, I never nit pick my tables, I sit down at any tables and take advantage of everyone sitting at that table and I always wait for the BB, it gives me time to analyze the players at the table and also look at some of the previous hands.

The way I see it, is that the regulars that play 16-24 tables play tight (ABC poker), there's always 1-2 fishies at a table and a donkey. Then there's 1 or 2 loose players, so there's money to be made on all types of players, no need to nit pick the tables, you just need to know the players and play accordingly.

As for min buy-in, there's one I see regularly at 50NL and I enjoy taking advantage of him...lol

        Just my 2 cents
