  • Cash and SNG question.

I keep seeing posts in forums that say stuff along the lines of "I grind NL200-1000" I was just wondering if that refers to cash games or SNGs because I also keep seeing people say they grind "NL 2/4 5/10 10/20 etc" which must be stakes they grind cash games at. Guessing the obvious answer is the right answer but just wanted to be sure.

Also might as well ask your opinions on which you think is the most profitable in general, cash games or SNGs? I read something about cash game grinders having better charts than SNG grinders in the long run but i'm not sure how true that is.

Hi Guyguyson! Those numbers are for cash tables and indicate the level that someone is playing. 200 is $2, 1000 is $10, 2 is two cents, 4 is 4 cents, 20 is twenty cents, etc. For which is better, it depends. Some players will be better at a given type of format (whether it be cash, sng, mtt). The key for each of us is to find where our game fits best and go from there. Hope this helps.umbup: John (JWK24)

      I don't quite understand, does NL200 refer to a 1/2$ cash game where 200 is a standard 100bb buyin?

200NL is a $1/$2 cash game. That IS correct.

The max buy-in will be according to the table.. some are 100bb, some are more, some are less... it depends on the table, as some are capped to certain amounts.
