  • Razz hand(Need explanation)

Can someone explain to me why is A,2,3,9,J HIGHER then 4,6,7,8,J (4,6,7,8,J WIN)?

I just started to play Razz but can't really understand how to realize which hand is stronger(lower) in cases like this,I lost this one and I was sure my hand is lower

Does it goes like from higher to lower which would mean A,2,3,4,K would lose from 8,9,10,J,Q since Q is lower then K?

Hi Urosh92! When looking at a razz hand, or for that matter, any game where the lowest hand wins, you always have to start with the highest card and go down in order. The first hand is J932A and the second is J8764. Both hands have a J as their highest card, so they tie there. Next, we need to look at the second highest card. The first hand has a 9 and the second hand has an 8. A 9 is higher than an 8... so J932A is the highest hand and loses. In the second example, K432A is against QJT98. We look at the highest card first and have K vs Q. The K is higher, so that hand loses. Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.umbup: John (JWK24)
