  • Heads Up Help !!

Hey there, Can anyone direct me to a lesson or training that I might be able to watch 1000x before this saturday??? lol When I look through the videos and lessons, I cannot find one specifically for Heads Up Tourneys...........this could also be due to my brain being frozen now that I have written my last exam...............so if you have a link , please post below !!! Cheers and Pre-thanks Skiny umbup:

Can you save that one until next week?

If so, go to the live training session on Sunday from Andre, HoRRoR77. Watching even one session of it with what hands to play from each position and how to size your bets, along with when to continuation bet the flop... will help you a great deal.

Oh yeah, Andre's classes are very helpful! I haven't had the chance to go to too many because of all the 10th Anniversary stuff that's been happening (and I have trouble doing two things at the same time

But I copied down the guidelines Andre gave in a class in November, like he had a little chart for how to play pre-flop:

      In position:
      • ..........................Raise 80% (any pair, any facecard, any gap-connected, any suited)*
        ..........................Fold 20%

      Out of position:
Villain limps: ......Raise 30% (any ace, any pocket, any broadway)*
      Villain raises: ....Re-raise 10%
      ..........................Call 20%

      *Raise=3bb (2-3BB is solid)
A lot of us were kind of shocked at the raise %, so in case you were wondering, it's not a typo Maybe it's something more advanced players grow into after they gain more experience playing anything and everything against players who are doing the same?

Anyways, just a taste of what was covered in Andre's class ... hope this helps!

Thanks again !! Thanks for the advice, I will definately catch the training session as I plan on doing nothing but watching NFL on Sunday for the first time this year ( darn school ) But I might have to cram my 5 left into this weekend as the next Saturday is Christmas Eve and the following is NY Eve !!! With the late start for a couple of these tourneys, it might be more prudent to play this weekend when I know I have the free time, because on the very off chance I go deep, I don't want to have to leave a game just to go eat turkey !!!! umbup: Thanks for the heads up on the heads up !!! Oh, that's right ... you only have like 4 weeks to play all the games or something like that? That's a lot! And yeah with the holidays ... and I guess if you like football, etc lol ...

I've been looking for videos on heads-up on the net, but haven't found anything that's really caught my eye (searched on youtube, google, etc) ... hopefully somebody else knows of some that hasn't seen your post yet or something and they know of some resources ...

In any case, that's cool that you'll get like a 'redo' with the double-up offer ... worse comes to worse, I guess this first game'll be like your practice run sort of a deal? Plenty of time to watch Andre later

          GL on Sunday!

PS I'm really enjoying your blogs ... some nice detail!! Unfortunate with some of the hands (the AK<79, etc ... booo)

The double isn't a given, I have to pull my socks up and start making a better blog about the tourneys, but I have gotten positive feedback about what and how I write, so thats a good start. I am going to post tonnes of hands now that I have "mastered" the replayer, I just hope I survive long enough to have lots of hands to post !!!! And I need to get my technica jargon down, so will try to do that more in future blogs...............
