May I suggest you stick to .25c 45/90 man Sit n Go tournaments. Do the Cowboy's Challenge and post your progress in the 'Blogs, Challenges & Achievements' section. Set aside $6.25 for this challenge (25 buy-ins). Post your results including Date Tournament ID # Buy-in (ie .25c) Amount Won Balance Brought Forward. I'm doing this challenge myself and you can click here for an example of how I post my results. Always try to play your best and learn a little every day. It might take a few weeks or months but if you do this you will see a huge improvement. Raiser umbup:

I definitely think it would be worth it. This way you will get 100 tournaments of practice in with a BR of $6.25. It's TOO easy to burn $8 even at 1/2c cash, I've done this within an hour of sitting at a cash table before. I'd like to see you post some of the hands that you've entered the pot with, even if they are folded post flop, in the Hand Analysis section. Not just the bad beats, but hands where you are wondering 'Did I do the right thing by folding?' and so on. Post a few hands where you have won the pot too. Raiser umbup:

Agree with the posts on the 25c games. If you find you don't have time for them (given that it can takes over 2.5 hours to complete a tournament) then give 2c/4c limit cash games a try. Take 80c be disciplined and only play good hands in position, only premium in early, and don't try anything funny (players so bad it probably won't work) and your should be fine

Actually DON'T play limit.. You get a lot more suckouts and bad beats.. So probably not the best idea for you

Conversely, it can be easy to increase your bankroll by playing good at this very beatable level. Players here will call very wide so if you play tight, without bluffing, and wait for your big hands, you can do well here. Plus the vpps accumulate faster imo.

This is coming from a cash preferential person though.

I would recommend Staying with the 25cent 45 man games as you are getting used to the play in them. I find it hard to flip flop between play in cash games and play in the sit and goes.

if you're into MTT's just stick with the conservative 100 buyin rule and you will be a winner winner chicken dinner.

dont sit with 80 cents on a 1/2 cents table, you dont have nearly enough in your stack to aggress someone out on the flop, 80 cents is either all-in or fold preflop 95% of the time.
