it's an acronym for heads up display. it's an overlay that tracking software gives you to see your opponents statistics while playing
May the tinfoil protect you. MT

The 2 most common places to get it are Hold Em Manager and Pokertracker 3. Just Google either and the link to their sites will come up. Each offers a free trial. I never got a chance to try HEM myself but did the PT3 free trials for NLHE and Omaha both (each were 60 days).

In addition to the HUD,which tracks stats of yourself and you opponents while you play, you also get a tracking system of your play so you can analyze your stats and find leaks in your game.

      A caveat...

If you are a very green, beginning player trying out one of these now may not be the best idea as most of the information will be way over your head and you won't be able to properly assimilate and process much of it.

If you think that you are ready to start looking deeper into your game and want to give one of these a whirl then I strongly suggest that you go to the video library and pull up Dave's (TheLangolier) videos Session #28:HUD (Heads Up Display) Usage and also session #5:Using Hold Em Manager for self analysis.

Though Dave runs HEM himself most of the information and usage of the 2 products is so similar that the videos pointers can easily be used for PT3 as well.
