  • outs / odds table

I was just checking the outs / odds table on http://www.pokerschoolonline.com/art...nd-Outs?page=4

On that table my odds on the flop if I have 1 out is 45:1 and on the turn is 22:1 but If i calculate that is actually thats 1x2 = 2% of not hitting my out. therefore 98:2 simplified = 49:1 to the turn and 24:1 to the river.

According to the table if i have 4 outs my odds to the turn are 11:1 and to the river 5:1 but I made the calculations and they are 11.5:1 and 5.25:1.

    My questions:

Am I doing the calculations correctly? I could understand on the 4 outs examples it could be rounded off and i get that it's better to round it as 11:1 than 12:1. Just making sure I'm doing this correctly, going to do the entire table since I want more exact numbers.

Should i worry about the difference between 11.5:1 and 11:1?

The difference between 11.5:1 and 11:5 is huge. The difference between 11.5:1 and 11:1 is insignificant.

It appears your odds are reversed.. Odds get worse with less cards to come, not better..
If your odds are aprox. 5/1 with two to come, then they're aprox. 11/1 with only one to come.
And the 4/2 rule works for rough estimations.... Multiply your outs times 4 with 2 to come to get the % you'll catch by the river and by 2 with 1 to come. It's rough but generally good enough. hope that helps some,, ..MT
