You've passed the basic test and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job!

          Step Two

The Poker Basics test was easy right? Well, there's a lot more to learn on the road to becoming a profitable poker player.
Now study the Cash Game course and once you think you have it mastered have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this.

Let us know as soon as you have passed the Cash Game Quiz and we will award you with your next buy-in.

here is a hand where i lost all my money( usually happends to me ) , i want to know if i've made the correct moves , was i suppesed to bet a bit larger in the begining to scare the others off? i suspected the winner had 2 clubs in his hands and was going for the flush but when i sau the ace of hearts( or diamonds , whatever it was )i tought he began to bluff so i called , can you point out my mistakes Thank you

I'm new to online poker and just a fellow player but play live games alot. You should have bet at least 16 cents post flop as you had the over pair and want to scare the player off from continuing on with either the flush draw or the over cards in hand.
The reason being is that he already called you pre-flop for 15 cents and another 6 cent investment for a 40 cent pot is minimal for a heavy draw flop like that. Pre-flop you played correctly in my opinion and on the turn after he re-raised your bet to cover most of your stack you should have either folded or pushed all in rather than call as the remaining stack you had left over would have little leverage no matter what popped up on the river.

Only mistake I really saw was that small bet on the flop, and personally after the small call to a huge reraise on an ace I would have folded that hand.

I see that you may have tried to build value on your pockets with a decent flop like that but you take away alot more risk by betting your pre-flop raise or more on the flop and would learn more on what your opponent would be holding.

Hope that helps you in the future. Good luck.

                      Hi petrut,

QQ is a strong hand preflop. However you must also bear in mind that the villain has opened from early position so might also have a very strong hand. I think either calling preflop or 3Betting are good plays. However I think your 3Bet size is too small. Because you're Out of Position, you should 3Bet to something like 3.5x the raise size, so I would make it about $0.20, not the $0.15 you made it. Because of your stack size, if the villain 4Bets, you'd have to be willing to move all in with your QQ

On the flop, your bet is way too small. However - you the reason for betting bigger isn't "to scare people off". If they've got a draw or a lower pair than you or some random Ax hand, why would you want them to fold? You're ahead of all of these hands and want them to call. However you need to ensure that you're not giving them the correct price to outdraw you. A bet of somehwere between 1/2 - 2/3 pot is about right.

I think once the A comes, betting small is OK, but you should definitely fold to his raise. You've shown a very strong line and when such a scary card comes, he is almost never going to bluff, so I think you can easily fold this.

Good luck with your bankroll builder challenge!
