Brilliant! You've passed the basic test and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job! Step Two The Poker Basics test was easy right? Well, there's a lot more to learn on the road to becoming a profitable poker player. Now study the Cash Game course and once you think you have it mastered have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this. Let us know as soon as you have passed the Cash Game Quiz and we will award you with your next buy-in. Best of Luck! Team PokerSchoolOnline

Here is a hand I am curious about: I decided to call the raise with the pocket threes because if I hit a set I would have a lot to win. After the flop I decided to call the bet because I was thinking that the other player probably raised with a hand like AQ,KQ or something that big and missed the flop. I decided to ckeck again on the turn to see what he does and then on the river I was afraid that he had hit the K, so I checked again. I won the pot but I don't think I should have checked the turn, I gave him a free card. What can you say about the way I played this hand?

                      It's working

Thank you for posting this hand for review and I have asked one of the Hand Analysers to take a look at it for you.

He will do this within the next 24 hours and once it's been analysed I will advise on the next step.

                            Hi 712ronny712,

Calling preflop is totally fine. My purpose when I call here with a small PP is to play for set value. My general game plan is to check fold whenever I don't hit a 3. Make sure however that your opponent will have atleast 20x the bet size behind to make those lines profitable. I think calling the flop is a bit of a weak passive line. Our game plan was to fold when we miss and chasing a gut shot with the bad end of the straight is probably not a wise plan. We could turn our gutshot however into a bluff by x/r but we need to have some good reads on our opponents and we need to know that they are capable folding to our raises.
