Well done JMoMinnie! You've passed the basic test and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job! Step Two The Poker Basics test was easy right? Well, there's a lot more to learn on the road to becoming a profitable poker player. Now study the Cash Game course and once you think you have it mastered have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this. Let us know as soon as you have passed the Cash Game Quiz and we will award you with your next buy-in. Best of Luck! flophitter umbup: Team PokerSchoolOnline

Great job JMoMinnie! You passed the Cash Game Quiz and so you've shown that you have a great understanding of the fundamentals of playing poker. We have now credited your account with your 2nd bonus. Step Three Please play a 1/2 cent Real Money table at PokerStars and, using the Hand Replayer, post a hand here in this thread that you have questions about. Here is a video on how to use the hand replayer. NB: You must post a Cash Game hand only, tournament hands do not count for this promotion. You must use the Hand Replayer only to post your hand, we cannot accept hands posted in any other way. Once you post your hand one of our Trainers will analyse it for you so please post an interesting hand where you have questions. Give as much information about the hand as possible, for example, had you any reads on your opponents? flophitter umbup: Team PokerSchoolOnline

Here is my hand for review. My reads pre flop were that the other two opponents had mediocre hands, since they called me but did not raise. Post flop First to act checks, I bet, the following person folds and the first guy calls me. My read on the guy at this time was that maybe he had a couple of over cards and was hoping to hit something on the turn. Turn comes, pairs me, I've got a straight draw, a flush draw, an inside straight flush draw and top pair. He checks, I bet, he raises So at this point i think he possibly has Q9 which made him his straight but I choose to call him since I had so many outs. You see what happens, probably the worst possible out I had.. Looking forward to your input. Thanks

Hi JMoMinnie, Thank you for posting this hand for review and I have asked one of the Hand Analysers to take a look at it for you. He will do this normally within the next 24 hours (but can sometimes take a little longer, especially at weekends) and once it's been analysed I will advise on the next step. flophitter umbup: Team PokerSchoolOnline

Hi JMoMinnie! Preflop, raising to isolate the early position limper or limping behind and playing your hand speculatively are both viable options. At 2NL, I would often prefer limping behind and not investing more than necessary until we have a made hand. As played, when the ep limper calls your raise, his range will be primarily pocket pairs and some broadway hands or Axs type hands. You play fine up to getting raised on the turn. Without more information on the villain, this looks like a value raise. Moreover, it is such a large raise that you are not getting good odds to call. Notice that you are not drawing to the nut flush. Therefore, you have few clean outs going to the river. As played, we should fold to the river all in. It will rarely be a bluff and with the board paired, there are very few hands that you are beating. The villain will either have a straight, a full house or something like JK, JA for better trips. GL and have fun at the tables! Roland GTX
