Hi Isaac8515! With 88 in the SB, I get 3 limps, then an abnormally large raise to 56 (a standard raise would have been to 3BB+1BB for each limper). This bet is over 1/3 of my stack, which means that if I play the hand, I'm pot-committed, so I either need to shove or fold here. That decision will need to be based on a read of the opp. If the opp is playing loose, then I'll shove. If the opp is very tight, then I'll fold. If I saw the flop with chips left (which I would not), with two overcards on the board, I'm going to check and hope for a free turn card. The turn is what should be a blank and I'm going to check again. Bets postflop need to be sized based on the size of the pot, number of opps and board texture. With 4 opps, a standard bet is a pot-sized bet, but I don't have this many chips. Due to this, I'm going to check. The same on the river. My hand does have showdown value, but may not be the best hand, so I'll check. The key with this hand is to either shove or fold preflop. Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.umbup: John (JWK24)

Excellent! You've done all 3 tasks and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job! Step Two Use your first buy-in to only play the 1/2 cent real money FULL RING tables on PokerStars. Do not play any other type of game other than this. Post one hand that you had difficulty with here in this thread using the hand replayer and we will analyze it for you. Please watch the following video and answer the question below. List 3 reasons why a player may want to make a big bet? Then study the Cash Game Course and once your happy have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this. So you have 3 things to do to earn your next bonus. 1) Play the 1/2 cent Real Money tables and post an interesting hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer. 2) Watch the Bet Sizing video and answer the question below it. 3) Study and pass the Cash Game quiz. Let us know as soon as you have all 3 tasks completed and we will award you with your next buy-in. Best of Luck! umbup:

Next Steps for Bankroll Builder 1. Can you comment on how I played this hand ? Should I have raised more on the turn or river ? 2. 3 reasons you would want to make a big bet are: protect against draws, gain value, bluff. 3. I have passed the Cash Game Course If you need anything else just let me know. Cheers.

                          Hi Isaac,

I like your preflop play. Because you're on the button, you will be in the best position post-flop so you should be looking to raise with a wider range of hands. KQ is a perfectly good hand to raise with. I also like your raise size.

You flop a Q-high flush draw, a gutshot straight draw and are facing a donkbet and a call. Having the Q-high flush draw is a double-edged sword, someone could easily have an A or K-high flush draw or already even have a flush. I think I would call like you did but proceed cautiously.

A very good card comes on the turn. You hit your flush but more importantly, it is less likely that someone has a better flush now, only someone holding Kc can beat you. Therefore I think you should raise over the min-raise that V4 made. You should bet big, like you answered in the quiz. You want to gain value against worse flushes and hands like two pair or three of a kind that are looking to hit a full house on the river. You should raise to around $0.30-$0.40 and call an all-in if anybody reraises you.

On the river, if somebody had Kc they would likely have bet because there is no guarantee that you would bet yourself. Therefore you can be confident of having the best hand, and should try to extract most value. Because you have less than a pot sized bet left, you should just move all in. Moving all in or betting small will make very little difference to what the villains decide to call or fold with, so just move all in and you win the most chips when they call.
