This isn't from a play money ring game, it's from a freeroll mtt. This hand worked out pretty well in the end but I think it might have been a bit of a stupid play. What do you think?

This one is from a play money ring game, pretty sure I played it right but I'm wondering if the second re-raise all in maybe should've just been a call.

              Hi skirriks!

With AQo from the cutoff, I get a limp, min-raise and a call in front of me. I'm going to 3-bet here and the key is the sizing of it. I'm going to raise to between 3X the previous bet (60) and a pot-sized raise (85). With multiple opps wanting to be in the hand, I tend to go for the upper end of this range and due to this, I'll raise to 85.
I now get 2 more calls, another min-raise and a call. While my hand does have potential, it's not a made hand, so I'm just going to call the raise to 180 and re-evaluate after the flop. If I had QQ+, then I'd want to re-raise and since a standard raise now will pot-commit me, I'd need to shove.

If I did raise, the shove IS the correct play, but with multiple opps and an un-made hand, I'd rather call and see what happens on the flop.

Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.

                    Brilliant!

You've done all 3 tasks and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job!

                    Step Two

Use your first buy-in to only play the 1/2 cent real money FULL RING tables on PokerStars. Do not play any other type of game other than this. Post one hand that you had difficulty with here in this thread using the hand replayer and we will analyze it for you.

Please watch the following video and answer the question below.

List 3 reasons why a player may want to make a big bet?

Then study the Cash Game course and once your happy have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this.

So you have 3 things to do to earn your next bonus.

                    1) Play the 1/2 cent Real Money tables and post an interesting hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer.
                    2) Watch the Bet Sizing video and answer the question below it.
                    3) Study and pass the Cash Game quiz.

Let us know as soon as you have all 3 tasks complete and we will award you with your next buy-in.

                    Best of Luck!

Just a quick question. You say I can't play any other game, am I allowed to play freeroll tournaments?

I have passed the cash game quiz and the three reasons for betting are to protect against draws, to bluff people off a decent hand and to gain value from a monster hand.

I think this was just bad play, but I was really unlucky that he caught a backdoor flush. Didn't bet on the turn because I wasn't sure how strong his kicker was and called on the river as I really didn't think he had a flush.

Here's another one, not sure if the call post flop was the correct play.
