Hi Purio0807! With JTo from the BB, when everyone limps, I'm more than happy to get a free flop. I see a 4-way flop where I do flop a straight and flush draw, but there is a problem here in that only one of my draws will give me the nuts (someone could always have a better hand if I hit my draw). When the first opp makes an abnormally small bet of 2, I need to and will call this and hope to hit my draw on the turn. I don't want to raise and don't want to have to call a large raise from any of the opps. When I hit my straight on the turn, I'm going to make a standard value bet. Bets postflop need to be sized based on the size of the pot, number of opps and board texture. With one opp in the pot, a standard bet is 1/2 pot on a dry board, but with a very wet board like this, the standard is 2/3 pot, so I will bet 16. I do not want to bet less than this or I can be giving the opp the correct odds to try to outdraw me. If I do so and lose the hand, it's my own fault that I lose. The river is another heart and now, I can be beat if the opp has the A or Q of hearts and both are well within their range. While I could make another standard value bet here, I'm going to check behind and go to showdown. Any opp that calls my turn bet should have a heart and I don't want to have to make a larger bet when I don't know if I'm ahead or not. Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.umbup: John (JWK24)

              Brilliant!

You've done all 3 tasks and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job!

              Step Two

Use your first buy-in to only play the 1/2 cent real money FULL RING tables on PokerStars. Do not play any other type of game other than this. Post one hand that you had difficulty with here in this thread using the hand replayer and we will analyze it for you.

Please watch the following video and answer the question below.

List 3 reasons why a player may want to make a big bet?

Then study the Cash Game course and once your happy have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this.

So you have 3 things to do to earn your next bonus.

              1) Play the 1/2 cent Real Money tables and post an interesting hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer.
              2) Watch the Bet Sizing video and answer the question below it.
              3) Study and pass the Cash Game quiz.

Let us know as soon as you have all 3 tasks complete and we will award you with your next buy-in.

              Best of Luck!

I have watched the video and passed the course. Here are the three reasons I'd want to make a big bet. To get value from my made hands. To put pressure on an opponent and to bluff. Here is a hand from the 2NL tables where I'm not sure about my bet sizes. I won the hand, but did I lose value?

Hi Purio0807, I like you how played this hand. And no you did not lose value because you got all your money into the pot Sometimes we can also bet the turn if it was a a big club but with the 6 we have little fold equity. PPs are always going to call, flushes are going to raise and we might fold out worse Ax hands that we already win against at SD. umbup:
