Thank you for posting this hand for review and I have asked one of the Hand Analysers to take a look at it for you.

He will do this within the next 24 hours and once it's been analysed I will advise on the next step.

            Cheers.

Hi masofpuppets! With 89s from UTG+1, I get a limp in front of me. Being in early position, I need to have a much stronger hand here if I want to play, as being out of position is a huge disadvantage. With this being the case, I need to immediately muck. If I had AKs, then I'd raise, but that is the only suited hand that is strong enough to play from this position. All others are too weak and need to be folded. If I saw the flop (which I would NOT), when I see that I flop a straight on a board with a flush draw, I absolutely need to make a value bet when it's checked to me. Bets postflop need to be sized based on the size of the pot, number of opps and board texture. With 4+ opps, a standard bet is a pot-sized bet, so I will bet 65. I cannot check, as I do not ever want to check a made hand unless there is not a single card in the deck that can beat me. Here, someone could have hearts and be drawing to a flush, so I need to bet enough to make them make a -EV play in order to try to outdraw me. The same thing on the turn. With 5 opps, I absolutely must make a pot-sized bet. I cannot bet less or I give them the correct odds to draw to beat me.. and if I do so and get beat, it's my own fault that I lose the hand. The keys here are first off, to muck marginal-at-best hands preflop when I'm out of position and after the flop, to make standard bets and not to try to slowplay hands. When the opps get the right odds to outdraw me, it's my own fault if I lose the hand. Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.umbup: John (JWK24)

                  Brilliant!

You've done all 3 tasks and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job!

                  Step Two

Use your first buy-in to only play the 1/2 cent real money FULL RING tables on PokerStars. Do not play any other type of game other than this. Post one hand that you had difficulty with here in this thread using the hand replayer and we will analyze it for you.

Please watch the following video and answer the question below.

List 3 reasons why a player may want to make a big bet?

Then study the Cash Game course and once your happy have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this.

So you have 3 things to do to earn your next bonus.

                  1) Play the 1/2 cent Real Money tables and post an interesting hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer.
                  2) Watch the Bet Sizing video and answer the question below it.
                  3) Study and pass the Cash Game quiz.

Let us know as soon as you have all 3 tasks complete and we will award you with your next buy-in.

                  Best of Luck!

                    the answer is
to bluff pepole off descent hand
                    to protect against strong draws
to put alot of pressure on opponents

                            Hi masofpuppets,

I will be your Hand Analyzer for this post

I don't advocate limping into pots. Though there are some situations that call for over-limping, I would rather be the aggressor and have the initiative in the hand. Here I think it would be a good idea to raise the limper ourselves and play the hand IP and with initiative. I would make it 0.08$ (3x +1bb for every limper)

As played, we can start considering folding to a turn bet with one player left to act behind us and when our outs are tainted due to the possible flush draw on board. Betting for value OTR after they check is the right play.
