Hi Jason272727! With KJ from the BB, when I get five limpers in front of me, I'm going to check and see a free flop since my hand is not strong enough to make a standard raise to 3BB+1BB for each limper with. I hit top pair/good kicker and when the SB checks to me, I need to make a value bet. Bets postflop need to be sized based on the size of the pot, number of opps and board texture. With 4 or more opps, I need to make a pot-sized bet, so I will bet 300. I do not want to bet less than this or I can be giving the opps the correct odds to try to outdraw me... something I need to avoid if I can do so. An opp now shoves on me. With a number of hands that beat me (better K's, two pair, set), I need to muck to this shove. Yes, every hand can win, but the overwhelming majority of the time in this type of situation (unless the opp is a total maniac), I'm going to be beat. I want to be putting my chips into the pot when I'm most likely ahead, not when I'm most likely behind. Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.umbup: John (JWK24)

You've done all 3 tasks and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job!

                  Step Two

Use your first buy-in to only play the 1/2 cent real money FULL RING tables on PokerStars. Do not play any other type of game other than this. Post one hand that you had difficulty with here in this thread using the hand replayer and we will analyze it for you.

Please watch the following video and answer the question below.

List 3 reasons why a player may want to make a big bet?

Then study the Cash Game course and once your happy have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this.

So you have 3 things to do to earn your next bonus.

                  1) Play the 1/2 cent Real Money tables and post an interesting hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer.
                  2) Watch the Bet Sizing video and answer the question below it.
                  3) Study and pass the Cash Game quiz.

Let us know as soon as you have all 3 tasks complete and we will award you with your next buy-in.

                  Best of Luck!

Reasons to make a big bet Reasons to make a big bet are: - To put a lot of pressure on opponents - To gain value from very strong hands - To protect against strong draws Also, this is one of my hands from the 1/2cNL full ring cash game. Can you tell me if I played it right and if it was the right call? The opponent was reasonably tight. Thank you very much. Also I have finished all the steps now, I am awaiting further instructions!

                        Hand Analysis

Has the villain been using this such a large open raise sizing? I sometimes encouter players making this standard, especially when they are sitting a really deep stack depth of 200bb+. Generally a 6x the big blind open sizing by a tight villain from early position is going to be weigthed towards strong to premium holdings. There are going to be more strong Ax combos than there are pocket aces and kings within their range, but let's certainly not rule out those monster hands. AK AJ AT (16 combos of each hand) or TT JJ is the most likely holding they may have based on their 4bet all in appears they do not want to see a flop and would just like to win the pot uncontested. You made the right call, only two hands have us beat and if they did indeed have AA or KK they would have made a much smaller 4bet sizing or flat our 3bet to try and take us post where they'll be making the most value.

                        Hope this helps.

                        Kind regards,

                        Quintuple Bracelet Winner
