Thank you for posting this hand for review and I have asked one of the Hand Analysers to take a look at it for you.
He will do this within the next 24 hours and once it's been analysed and you have passed the basics course, I will advise on the next step.

His opening range is probably ahead of your hand. In general we can say the earlier the position, the stronger their range. Secondly, his raise is 10bbs which is very big, especially since you only have 43bb in your stack. You are not deep enough stacked to play your hand as a speculative hand. You will most often have to fold on the flop and you will not win enough the few times you do win to make this profitable. With speculative hands we want to see the flop as cheaply as possible. So, folding preflop would have been best here. As played, you get a great flop with an open ended straight draw and an overcard. With so much already in the pot, you should want to get all your chips in the middle. However, at the moment, you still do not have a made hand. I would prefer keeping it simple and raising all in on the flop. Calling as you did leaves you with a small stack compared to the pot which means any future bet/raise you make will be insignificant. Raising now has some fold equity and will ensure that you maximize your profit if called. Nice turn card for you The important part to take from this hand is the preflop action. Speculative hands are only profitable in the long run if we can see the flop cheaply. GL and have fun at the tables! Roland GTX
