Did I get the maximum Value out of this pot ? Should I have bet from the flop? didnt want to scare anyone out and was hoping for someone to initiate the betting. What about pre flop. A raise to thin out the field or was my hand too weak for that ? Table was fairly new, was only my 3rd or 4th hand so had no real info on how people were playing Videos watched. Passed Basic Course Thanx

Hi Runitup_Ron! With 22 in the BB, the entire table limps in front of me. I'm plenty deep enough to setmine (15X the bet in my stack and the opp's stacks), so I'll check and hope to flop a 2. I flop the bottom end of a full house. When it checks to me, I need to make a standard value bet. Bets postflop need to be made based on the size of the pot, number of opps and board texture. With 4+ opps in the pot, I need to and will make a pot-sized bet of 12. I do not want to check, as any opp that has a 9 or pair can get a free card to try to outdraw me. If they want to try to outdraw me, I need to make sure that they call a bet where they expect to lose chips on average, in order to do so. I need to do the same on the turn. With 5 opps still in the pot, I need to make another pot-sized bet. The river is with 2 opps and a standard bet with two opps in the hand is 2/3 pot, so that is what I will bet. By making standard bets, it helps to conceal the strength of my hand, as I'll make the same bet regardless of the cards that I'm playing. Players that bet more with better hands and less with marginal ones are basically turning their cards face-up to an observant opponent... something that I want to avoid. Also, slowplaying big hands can lead to huge problems. I do not want to give the opps the right odds to try to outdraw me. The only way that I can check these hands is if there is not a single card in the deck that can have an opp outdraw me and this will not be the case very often. Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.umbup: John (JWK24)

                    Brilliant!

You've done all 3 tasks and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job!

                    Step Two

Use your first buy-in to only play the 1/2 cent real money FULL RING tables on PokerStars. Do not play any other type of game other than this. Post one hand that you had difficulty with here in this thread using the hand replayer and we will analyze it for you.

Please watch the following video and answer the question below.

List 3 reasons why a player may want to make a big bet?

Then study the Cash Game course and once your happy have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this.

So you have 3 things to do to earn your next bonus.

                    1) Play the 1/2 cent Real Money tables and post an interesting hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer.
                    2) Watch the Bet Sizing video and answer the question below it.
                    3) Study and pass the Cash Game quiz.

Let us know as soon as you have all 3 tasks complete and we will award you with your next buy-in.

                    Best of Luck!

Hi Runitup_Ron! You played this hand by the book - well doneumbup: Preflop limping behind is best with 88 here. 88 doesn't play well post flop since there are typically overcards on the flop. Your best line is to play is speculatively hoping to flop a set. See the flop as cheaply as possible and preferably with multiple opponents. This improves your chances of stacking someone if you flop a set. Villian 4 raises and the limper calls. Note, that V4 is pretty short stacked. You do not have pot odds to call his raise. However the limper is deepstacked which does give you good enough odds to call. Furthermore, you have position on both and are last to act preflop. Calling as you did is good. You missed the and it is only overcards. Check-folding is the best line here, especially without any reads. Even though you didn't win this hand, you played it wellumbup: GL and have fun at the tables! Roland GTX
