  • Bleak's Bankroll Builder

Hey guys! I would love to participate and get some lessons from someone. I have played quite a bit of poker over the last year but after some foolish, silly plays I have finally admitted to myself that I am a fish online. I play a lot of live tournies at my local casino (Usually 40-100 dollar tourneys with 40-140 people showing up) and usually get to at least the first break (90 minutes) with avg stack or 1.5 stack. Last week I won (woo!) first after 4 hours of grinding it out. Along with the prize money I won a ticket to a 300 dollar buy in that will show about 150 people or so I am told. I wanna keep my skills up.

Tell me what to do boss

Please do NOT do anything before you are instructed to do so... IF... you are even eligible. If you do, you WILL be redoing them, as these things have to be done AFTER you are instructed to do so.

Thank you for posting this hand for review and I have asked one of the Hand Analysers to take a look at it for you.

He will do this within the next 24 hours and once it's been analysed I will advise on the next step.

                Cheers.

Hi BleakIsOwnin! With AK and a limper in front of me, I'm going to make a standard raise, which is to 3BB+1BB for each limper. With one limp, I will raise to 40. I want to keep all of my bets/raises standard, as this helps to conceal the strength of my hand. Players that bet more with better hands and less with marginal ones are basically turning their cards face-up to an observant opponent... something that I want to avoid doing. I now get two calls and a huge overbet shove. A standard raise for this opp would be to between 3X the previous bet and a pot-sized raise. Here is where I need a read on this opp, but also the others. AK does play well against one opp, especially a loose opp. However, it does not play well in multi-way pots nor against a tight opp. If the opp is loose and I think the others are most likely to fold, then I will call. If the opp is tight or I think that the other opps will stay, then I need to muck. Without reads (none were provided) and with 2 opps left to act, I'm going to fold. Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.umbup: John (JWK24)

                    Brilliant!

You've done all 3 tasks and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job!

                    Step Two

Use your first buy-in to only play the 1/2 cent real money FULL RING tables on PokerStars. Do not play any other type of game other than this. Post one hand that you had difficulty with here in this thread using the hand replayer and we will analyze it for you.

Please watch the following video and answer the question below.

List 3 reasons why a player may want to make a big bet?

Then study the Cash Game course and once your happy have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this.

So you have 3 things to do to earn your next bonus.

                    1) Play the 1/2 cent Real Money tables and post an interesting hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer.
                    2) Watch the Bet Sizing video and answer the question below it.
                    3) Study and pass the Cash Game quiz.

Let us know as soon as you have all 3 tasks complete and we will award you with your next buy-in.

                    Best of Luck!
