Hi I played the following hand I had a good flush draw. Wondering should I have pushed harder earlier to build up the pot eg post flop? Or just check. Thanks.

Hi Wanderlusten, I will be your Hand Analyzer for is post I think we should be folding our hand preflop; we have a weak hand and very hard to improve OTF. As played, we are forced to play our hand passively because we also don't know how well our flush would be against so many callers. It's good you did not invest more money into the pot umbup: Be sure to be more selective with the hands you play preflop. GL at the tables!

Brilliant! You've done all 3 tasks and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job! Step Two Use your first buy-in to only play the 1/2 cent real money FULL RING tables on PokerStars. Do not play any other type of game other than this. Post one hand that you had difficulty with here in this thread using the hand replayer and we will analyze it for you. Please watch the following video and answer the question below. List 3 reasons why a player may want to make a big bet? Then study the Cash Game course and once your happy have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this. So you have 3 things to do to earn your next bonus. 1) Play the 1/2 cent Real Money tables and post an interesting hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer. 2) Watch the Bet Sizing video and answer the question below it. 3) Study and pass the Cash Game quiz. Let us know as soon as you have all 3 tasks complete and we will award you with your next buy-in. Best of Luck! flophitter umbup:

Thank you! What do you think of this hand then? Was wondering if it was better if i have folded earlier (even though I won this time).

Hi wanderlusten! I'll analyse the hand in post #9.

With Q8s in late position, I'd sometimes fold and sometimes raise in order to try and steal the blinds. Limping (just calling the blind) is the worst option, as it doesn't give you an immediate chance to win the hand; you'll have to hit the flop, and that won't happen often. The big blind minraises, and you can call this, because of the great pot odds. The flop comes 643, which completely misses most hands, unless villain has an overpair or flush draw. He just minbets 2c into 9c, and with two overcards, I'd just call. I don't see much point in bluff-raising, because villain's small bets and raises indicate he's a bad player, and bad players don't like folding. He calls the raise, so now the pot is 30c. The king on the turn is a bad card for you, as you no longer have any overcards and you have no draw. Villain again minbets. I think most of the time he has a weak pair or a draw. I would just call again, because the price is right. The 6 on the river pairs the board, and when villain checks, he's basically giving up. Your queen high might be good enough to win at showdown, but probably not, but I think it would be a mistake to bluff, as this player will look you up with all pairs, and probably ace high. You checked back which is good, and villain surprisingly shows a worse Q. He had a gutshot on the flop, so I might make a note that he minbets with weak draws, so that I know what he's up to next time he takes that line.

                      Hope this helps!

                      Cheers,
                      Arty
