Hi teoqila107! With AA (or any other hand that I'm going to play), I'm going to make a standard opening raise, which is to 3BB+1BB for each limper. With 2 limpers, I will raise to 5BB or 10 chips. I do not want to raise more nor less than this, as it can either give the opps the correct odds to try to outdraw me, or it can be a tell as to the strength of my hand (betting too much). The flop is three undercards with a number of draws possible. Bets post-flop need to be sized based on the size of the pot, number of opps and board texture. With 3 opps, I need to bet 3/4 pot (14 chips). I cannot bet less than this, as I can be giving the opps the correct odds to draw to beat me. If I give them the correct odds and they do end up outdrawing me... it's my own fault that I'd lose the hand. When an opp min-raises me, I need to make a standard re-raise, which is to 3X the previous bet, so I'd raise to 12. I now have two opps on the turn and when it's checked to me, once again, I will make a standard value bet, which for two opps is 2/3 pot. The river completes a spade flush and when the opps check to me, I'm going to make a 1/2 pot value bet as I want to size this bet small enough so that the opps can call with worse hands. By keeping all of my bets and raises standard, I help to conceal the strength of my hand and keep the opps guessing as to what cards I have. Players that bet more or less based on their cards are basically turning them face-up to an observant opponent.. something that I want to avoid doing. Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.umbup: John (JWK24)

Brilliant! You've done all 3 tasks and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job! Step Two Use your first buy-in to only play the 1/2 cent real money FULL RING tables on PokerStars. Do not play any other type of game other than this. Post one hand that you had difficulty with here in this thread using the hand replayer and we will analyze it for you. Please watch the following video and answer the question below. List 3 reasons why a player may want to make a big bet? Then study the Cash Game course and once your happy have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this. So you have 3 things to do to earn your next bonus. 1) Play the 1/2 cent Real Money tables and post an interesting hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer. 2) Watch the Bet Sizing video and answer the question below it. 3) Study and pass the Cash Game quiz. Let us know as soon as you have all 3 tasks complete and we will award you with your next buy-in. Best of Luck! flophitter umbup:

1 - to put a lot of pressure on opponents

2 - to bluff people off decent hands

3 - to gain value from very strong hands

Hi teoqila107! There are several points worth noting with this hand. Firstly, I would suggest folding preflop. It looks like a good spot to play a speculative hand, but it isn't. You are going to be out of position all hand which makes it much harder to win regardless your cards. Secondly, your cards are not suited. This reduces your chances of winning significantly. Also note, with speculative hands we want to flop a strong draw or a set with smaller pairs. Any time we flop one pair, we need to be careful. We run a real risk of losing a big pot to a villain with a better kicker. As played, you flop top pair. You may have the best hand. Check-calling preflop is a safe line that keeps the pot under control. Leading with a thin value bet can also be fine. Your bet is too big though. I would suggest 70% of the pot at most. This will give anyone drawing poor odds to continue, but not so big as to force second pair hands to fold. By raising nearly pot sized, you create a situation in which you get value owned. All the hands you are beating will probably fold. Whereas only the hands beating you will continue. This means we win a smaller pot than we could have in spots where we are ahead, but lose bigger pots than necessary when we are behind. As played, you get raised big. This looks like a clear fold for you. As I mentioned at the start. We don't want to overvalue our top pair weak kicker hand. You might be facing a set, two pair or top pair better kicker. It is unlikely that anyone chasing a flush would raise you. In other words, the only hand you are likely to be beating is a random bluff. I hope this helps! GL and have fun at the tables! Roland GTX
