Raising with A, 10 I raised on the button with A,10. Got an A on the flop, then I re-raised the bet to 40, and on the river I bet 100, and got called on it and won the hand with a pair of Aces and 8s from the board.

Hi Sekhon213! When starting out, it's much easier to play full ring tables, compared to 6-max, as it allows a player to be more patient and to not have to pay the blinds as quickly. With ATo (or any other hand that I want to play), I need to make a standard opening raise, which is to 3BB+1BB for each limper. Being first to act, I will raise to 3BB or 60 chips. I do not want to raise to less than this, as I could then be giving the opps the correct odds to try to outdraw me. I flop top pair with a medium kicker on a VERY scary board. When the fist opp makes an abnormally small bet, I'm going to make a value raise. A standard bet for the opp (or my raise) is 2/3 pot with two opps, as bets post-flop need to be sized based on the size of the pot, number of opps and board texture. Due to this, I will raise to 127. I cannot raise less, as this can give the opp the correct odds to draw, especially if they have a single diamond. The same thing on the turn, I need to bet 2/3 the size of the pot and cannot bet less. If I'm unwilling to put in 2/3 pot, then I need to check. On the river, if the opps have called two 2/3 pot bets, when it's checked to me, I'm going to check behind and go to showdown. My hand does have showdown value, but might not be the best hand. Due to this, I'll check. Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.umbup: John (JWK24)

Excellent! You've done all 3 tasks and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job! Step Two Use your first buy-in to only play the 1/2 cent real money FULL RING tables on PokerStars. Do not play any other type of game other than this. Post one hand that you had difficulty with here in this thread using the hand replayer and we will analyze it for you. Please watch the following video and answer the question below. List 3 reasons why a player may want to make a big bet? Then study the Cash Game Course and once your happy have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this. So you have 3 things to do to earn your next bonus. 1) Play the 1/2 cent Real Money tables and post an interesting hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer. 2) Watch the Bet Sizing video and answer the question below it. 3) Study and pass the Cash Game quiz. Let us know as soon as you have all 3 tasks completed and we will award you with your next buy-in. Best of Luck! umbup:

I was unable to get the draw I wanted. List 3 reasons why a player may want to make a big bet? 1) To put pressure on players 2) Gain value from stong hands 3) Bluff opponents off decent hands

                            Hi Sekhon213,

You must only play the 1/2 cent real money FULL RING tables on PokerStars, as directed in step two above. Playing any other type of game will make you INELIGIBLE for further bonuses.

You must post a real money hand, post #12 will not count.

                            Good luck and take care!
