Hi bugi94sd! With QTs or any other hand that I'm going to play here, I'm going to make a standard opening raise to 3BB+1BB for each limper. With 2 limpers, I'll raise to 5BB or 250. I want to keep all of my bets and raises standard, as this helps to conceal the strength of my hand. Players that bet more with better hands and less with marginal ones are basically turning their cards face-up to an observant opponent... something that I want to avoid. I then get a min raise and 4 calls. I'm going to call here and re-evaluate after the flop. I flop trip 10's and when it's checked to me, I'm going to make a standard value bet. Bets post-flop need to be sized based on the size of the pot, number of opps and board texture. With 4 or more opps in the pot, a standard bet size is a pot bet, so I will bet 1550. I then get called and min-raised. I'm going to re-raise here and I will size this at as another standard bet. A standard re-raise is to between 3X the previous bet and a pot-sized raise. With multiple opps in the pot, I tend to pick the higher end of this range, so I will normally raise to about 6500.. however, this is well over 1/3 of my stack, which means that I'm pot-committed and cannot ever fold if I make this bet, so I'm going to 3-bet shove here. I don't want to raise smaller than a standard raise, as this can allow the opp to have the correct odds to try to outdraw me, which is another thing that I want to avoid whenever possible. If I give them the right odds and they do beat me, it's my own fault that I lose the hand. Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.umbup: John (JWK24)

Excellent! You've done all 3 tasks and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job! Step Two Use your first buy-in to only play the 1/2 cent real money FULL RING tables on PokerStars. Do not play any other type of game other than this. Post one hand that you had difficulty with here in this thread using the hand replayer and we will analyze it for you. Please watch the following video and answer the question below. List 3 reasons why a player may want to make a big bet? Then study the Cash Game Course and once your happy have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this. So you have 3 things to do to earn your next bonus. 1) Play the 1/2 cent Real Money tables and post an interesting hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer. 2) Watch the Bet Sizing video and answer the question below it. 3) Study and pass the Cash Game quiz. Let us know as soon as you have all 3 tasks completed and we will award you with your next buy-in. Best of Luck! umbup:

Hi bugi94sd! You have AKs which is a great starting hand. V7 with a 38bb stack limps in and the button who has you covered raises to 6c. What reads/notes did you have on these two villains? Calling or 3-betting are usually fine here. Your betsize is too small though. A standard 3-bet is 3x the original raise, plus 1x for each caller. So, here I would make it 18 - 24 cents. Mini-raising as you did gives any hand good odds to continue and potentially out flop you. Remember, AKs is a strong starting hand, but it is not a made hand yet. Even 22 is beating you at the moment. As played, you 3-bet and get 4-bet all in and a caller. If you are going to continue with the hand, moving all in as you did is better than just calling behind. Calling would put you out of position for hte rest of the hand. Getting all in removes this problem and may sometimes even get the btn to fold. Should you continue with the hand, or is it better to fold? Personally, I would fold. Firstly, you don't have too much invested yet in the hand. Secondly, I don't like risking my whole stack preflop in such unclear spots. I prefer to wait until I have a strong made hand postflop such as a set or better before moving all in. There are so many good spots postflop where we can get our stack in confident that we have the best hand that I would avoid this marginal spot. Knowing if moving all in is a profitable move in the long run will depend on what ranges we assign the villains and how often we expect the btn to fold to our raise. Without a read, I would expect anyone 4-betting, or calling a 4-bet to have a decent hand (much better than they actually showed down.) Finally, make sure you put notes on both of these players. Knowing that the btn is a calls light can be quite profitable information for example. I hope this helps! GL and have fun at the tables! Roland GTX

                            Hi bugi94sd

Preflop: I like punishing the limpers here with a raise. Our hand has good post flop potential and playability with position and initiative. That said, I would have made it 250 (3x raise + 1bb for every player that limped)
Definitely calling 100 more to see flop but my plan would be to proceed cautiously if we flop TP.
Flop: Bingo! We flopped trips; the question is: how can we get max value from our hand?
The flop is pretty dry, there is 98 for a straight draw and J9/J8/86 for gut shots. The standard approach is to check and let the preflop 3bettor bet and then we can call or in this case raise. However, that would kind of turn our hand face up. So leading here is not bad imo, some opponents might figure us for a 7x and they could float or raise us. The rest of the hand plays out for itself I think. Unlucky outcome!
