Hi mitzu91! With JJ in the BB, I get a limp, then a huge overbet shove by an opp. A standard raise for this opp would have been to 3BB+1BB for each limper or 8 chips. Whether to call or fold here needs to be made based on a read of how the opp is playing. If they are playing loose and involved in a large number of hands, then I'd be calling. If the opp is playing tight, then this is a very tough situation and depending on how tight they are, I could actually fold it, as I may be in a flip if I knew I'd be up against only one opp... BUT... there is still an opp behind me left to act. All hands play much better against only one opp and if both opps are tight and would call, JJ is probably in deep trouble here and I'd need to fold it. Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.umbup: John (JWK24)

              Brilliant!

You've done all 3 tasks and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job!

              Step Two

Use your first buy-in to only play the 1/2 cent real money FULL RING tables on PokerStars. Do not play any other type of game other than this. Post one hand that you had difficulty with here in this thread using the hand replayer and we will analyze it for you.

Please watch the following video and answer the question below.

List 3 reasons why a player may want to make a big bet?

Then study the Cash Game course and once your happy have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this.

So you have 3 things to do to earn your next bonus.

              1) Play the 1/2 cent Real Money tables and post an interesting hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer.
              2) Watch the Bet Sizing video and answer the question below it.
              3) Study and pass the Cash Game quiz.

Let us know as soon as you have all 3 tasks complete and we will award you with your next buy-in.

              Best of Luck!

In this hand im dealt TT, and I raise 4xBB that is my standard raise, from Mp1. Mp3 decides to raise 3x my amount.everybody folds around. Im thinking that a 3 bet will put him all in anyway. I am thinking about a call but than I cannot play any board that has J, Q, K or A on it. After reviewing the hand I think i overplayed the TT.

                        Cash Game course passed.
I think a player would make large bets if
                        - he is trying to protect a strong hand from draws.
                        - he is trying to make an opponent throw away maybe a top pair with a small kicker.
                        - to extract value from a worst hand.

                              Hi Mihai,

I will be your Hand Analyzer for this post

I like your raise preflop; I think we can make it slightly more because we are OOP so we want our opponent to pay for his positional advantage; I tend to add 1bb extra whenever I am OOP so I'd make it 0.20$ instead of 0.18$.

With the Ace OTF I think we can go both ways here; We can either Cbet to 1/2 pot or x/c and re-evaluated the turn. I think x/c might be a more attractive option against opponents who play straight forward and are on the passive side because if we bet we will fold JJ/TT/99 and they will continue with Ax hands and if they check we can go for thin value on the turn and/or river. Against an aggressive opponent, I will lean towards betting because we can get called by worse hands and more importantly we risk getting bluffed off our hand by spade draws forexample.

                              Hope this help!
