This means all the hands you are beating fold, whereas all only the hands beating you continue. It also creates a situation in which you win small pots (people folded) and you lose big pots. This is a very important concept to learn. Moreover, you have top pair, but your hand is unclear. Anyone may have a 2 for trips. Players may have a 7 with a better kicker than yours. And players may have an overpair. Making a small bet of 50% the pot may be ok, but check-calling preflop would probably be the best line. Here you got lucky which is great. But smart decisions will yield the best results over time GL and have fun at the tables! Roland GTX

                  Brilliant!

You've done all 3 tasks and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job!

                  Step Two

Use your first buy-in to only play the 1/2 cent real money FULL RING tables on PokerStars. Do not play any other type of game other than this. Post one hand that you had difficulty with here in this thread using the hand replayer and we will analyze it for you.

Please watch the following video and answer the question below.

List 3 reasons why a player may want to make a big bet?

Then study the Cash Game course and once your happy have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this.

So you have 3 things to do to earn your next bonus.

                  1) Play the 1/2 cent Real Money tables and post an interesting hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer.
                  2) Watch the Bet Sizing video and answer the question below it.
                  3) Study and pass the Cash Game quiz.

Let us know as soon as you have all 3 tasks complete and we will award you with your next buy-in.

                  Best of Luck!

                      test

                      1. By value. Have a good hand made and you can get value betting worse hands. For example: You're 10-10, you're playing against 2 players and the flop is 10 ♥ 7 ♥ 5 ♠. There are many possible hands your opponents continue to play if you bet.
                      2. As a bluff. Think your hand will not win at showdown and you have enough fold equity to be a play betting profitable. For example: You have 6 ♠ 6 ♦, uploaded under the gun and you paid a TAG on the button. The flop comes A ♠ K ♥ 5 ♦. If you can make bets fold better hands than yours (77 - JJ) and hands that have good equity against your hand (67s - 109s).
                      3. Have a strong equity. Not have a made hand, but many cards can improve your hand on the turn and allow you to make a bet. For example: You have A ♣ Q ♣ and uploaded in MP1, receiving two call's. The flop is J ♣ 7 ♣ 5 ♠. You flush draw and two overcards as possible solutions.

Ask yourself, "What am I hoping to flop?" If you flop an A, typically you will either win a small pot or lose a big one. Most players who don't have an A will fold winning you a small pot. Or, you will lose a big pot because most players will call with an A that has a higher kicker than you 5. We need to be very careful regarding this point. This makes it tough to bet/raise etc with confidence. If you flop a 5, you will rarely have top pair. Again we cant bet with confidence. You have no flush possibilities. You do have some straight potential which is good. Although with A5 you will always be drawing to a gutshot with only 1 card. In other words, there aren't many flops that are good for us except random two pair or trips flops and these won't happen very often. As you have probably guessed, I prefer folding this hand preflop, especially when you are out of position and facing an early position raiser. On the flip side, the mini-raise and call do not seem very strong. On the flop, you get top pair. This gives you some showdown value. However, you get a bet and a raise in front of you. It is unlikely that you have the best hand now. Folding would be best. Also, notice that your hand is unlikely to improve. You don't have a gutshot straight draw or a flush draw with spades. Folding would be best on the turn and again on the river. Yes you have top pair, but you are facing a villain who has barreled every street. Unless you had a fantastic read on the villain and had seen him do this exact line with second pair or worse, you should fold every time. At 2NL the best way to ensure long term profitability is to stick to strong starting hands and never bluff. Just value bet your strong made hands such as a set or better. Calling an all in raise from a villain who has bet every street is very high risk. You were correct this time, congratulations! But, I advise you to avoid this line with weak aces in the future. More times than not you will have the 2nd best hand. GL and have fun at the tables! Roland GTX
