bankroll builder/katil1954 Hi i played this hand as it was very weak at the start of the hand but i think that no one has a very strong hand so i just call the flop.there was an ace on the flop so a good flop for c bet.keeping in mind this i call the c bet and i get open ender straight on the turn and i know that if any one has an ace it will be very weak ace cause of its kicker so i raise the turn bet.Bingo i hit the river and i won the pot did i play this hand wrong.

Hi katill1954! Your thoughts about what type of hands the other players may have are ok. However, if we look at the way you have played the hand from any oppoent perspective. You have not represented a strong A either... Preflop 75o is just too weak to play preflop. Had they been suited, then maybe. But as is, you just won't win often enough to make playing this hand profitable. Folding pf would be best. As played, the flop doesn't give you a strong enough draw. You need to get two running cards. You should fold to the bet. The turn does give you an open ended straight draw. That means you have 8 outs or with the rule of 2, about 16% chance of making it on the river. Calling the 150 bet would be ok, but making a small raise is not good. There is pretty much no chance that people will fold. The raise creates a spot where you no longer have good odds to continue. More importantly, you might get reraised all in. In spots like this try to keep the pot under control until you have a made hand. In general, don't bluff and don't chase at 2NL. Semi-bluffing with strong draws or on missed flops with a c-bet can be good. But, these work best against a single opponent. In spots with multiple opponents, value bet your strong made hands, but check-fold or check-call keeping the pot under control with other hands. GL and have fun at the tables! Roland GTX

Brilliant! You've done all 3 tasks and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job! Step Two Use your first buy-in to only play the 1/2 cent real money FULL RING tables on PokerStars. Do not play any other type of game other than this. Post one hand that you had difficulty with here in this thread using the hand replayer and we will analyze it for you. Please watch the following video and answer the question below. List 3 reasons why a player may want to make a big bet? Then study the Cash Game course and once your happy have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this. So you have 3 things to do to earn your next bonus. 1) Play the 1/2 cent Real Money tables and post an interesting hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer. 2) Watch the Bet Sizing video and answer the question below it. 3) Study and pass the Cash Game quiz. Let us know as soon as you have all 3 tasks complete and we will award you with your next buy-in. Best of Luck! flophitter umbup:

Hi katil1954, Thank you for posting your answers and your quiz result - but unfortunately the hand you posted is from a 6-player table. This promotion is only for 9-player tables. So please post a hand from a full ring table and we will happy to review it for you. flophitter umbup:

Hi katil1954! Nice hand! Let's take a closer look. Opening with 109o is the lowest I would go with unsuited cards, but it is fine to open with. Good bet sizing with the standard 3x. You get two callers and flop an open ended straight draw. Notice that the board is paired. If you get a lot of action you need to be careful since a full house is always a real threat. Luckily both villain's are passive and check to you. I like leading with 50% to 70% pot c-bet here just as you did. The turn doesn't help you and the villain leads with a half pot bet. Calling is fine here. Had he raise more, then I would have suggested folding though. On the river, you make your straight and he checks to you. It seems like you have the best hand. So, we want to raise the maximum amount that we think the villain would call with any hand that is not a full house. The villain's line makes it a bit difficult to put him on a narrow range of hands. It seems likely that he has two overs such as AQ perhaps. I would bet about a third of the pot here. But anything between 30% and 50% seems ok. Yet, with the dry board and the unclear range on the villain, going smaller will probably have a better chance of getting called. ABC poker, well doneumbup: Roland GTX PS: Remember to stick to Full Ring tables in the future
