Hi Uz.Roy! The first problem that I see is before the hand even starts. Whenever playing a ring table, I ALWAYS wait for the BB to start playing. Paying extra blinds over and over is a huge drain to a player's bankroll. With 77 from the hijack, I get a limp (the post), then an abnormally large raise to 14BB. A standard opening raise is to 3BB+1BB for each limper, which here would be 8 chips. While I do have a pair, it's a very marginal hand and when facing an abnormally large bet, I need to fold this preflop. If for some reason, I saw the flop (which I would not), when I hit bottom set, with 5 opps in the pot, I need to make sure there is a pot-sized bet.... however.. I don't have this many chips. Due to this, I have one play on the flop and that is to shove. The key in this hand is to muck a marginal hand to an abnormally large raise. Many players bet more with better hands and less with marginal ones. This basically turns their cards face-up to an observant opponent.. something I absolutely want to avoid doing. Making standard bets and raises helps to keep my cards concealed and to keep the opps guessing as to the cards that I'm playing. Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.umbup: John (JWK24)

                  Brilliant!

You've done all 3 tasks and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job!

                  Step Two

Use your first buy-in to only play the 1/2 cent real money FULL RING tables on PokerStars. Do not play any other type of game other than this. Post one hand that you had difficulty with here in this thread using the hand replayer and we will analyze it for you.

Please watch the following video and answer the question below.

List 3 reasons why a player may want to make a big bet?

Then study the Cash Game course and once your happy have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this.

So you have 3 things to do to earn your next bonus.

                  1) Play the 1/2 cent Real Money tables and post an interesting hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer.
                  2) Watch the Bet Sizing video and answer the question below it.
                  3) Study and pass the Cash Game quiz.

Let us know as soon as you have all 3 tasks complete and we will award you with your next buy-in.

                  Best of Luck!

                        Hi Roy,

                        Unlucky there!

I like the stab with 44 OTF, but the problem is OTT when he check raises us. It's gross since we hold the dummy end of the straight and the hands that would x/c the flop have improved on the 7, particularly 9x hands like A9, Q9, J9, T9. The only hand I can think off that might x/c flop and improved OTT other than a straight is something like 76.

Given the result of the hand, I think villain played his hand badly. Slow playing a set on a wet flop is generally not a great idea. A flop x/r by them might be okay.

                        Better luck next time
