                Hi BLUFF3D,

In my opinion over-limping/limping is not a profitable play in general. We want to be the aggressor and take initiative in the hand to put pressure and control the pot when we see a flop.
I think folding K9s here is the most optimal play since we cannot raise due to the strength of our hand and the number of players left to act behind us.

                GL at the tables!

                  Brilliant!

You've done all 3 tasks and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job!

                  Step Two

Use your first buy-in to only play the 1/2 cent real money FULL RING tables on PokerStars. Do not play any other type of game other than this. Post one hand that you had difficulty with here in this thread using the hand replayer and we will analyze it for you.

Please watch the following video and answer the question below.

List 3 reasons why a player may want to make a big bet?

Then study the Cash Game course and once your happy have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this.

So you have 3 things to do to earn your next bonus.

                  1) Play the 1/2 cent Real Money tables and post an interesting hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer.
                  2) Watch the Bet Sizing video and answer the question below it.
                  3) Study and pass the Cash Game quiz.

Let us know as soon as you have all 3 tasks complete and we will award you with your next buy-in.

                  Best of Luck!

Hi Mods! Just finished the cash game course and passed the quiz! Here are the reasons why we must make a big bet: - To put immense pressure on our opponent. - To protect us from strong drawing hands. - To build value for our strong hands so we get paid off later. And finally here is an interesting hand that I played. Do you think I could have made a lot more money out of it?

Hi BLUFF3D~YOU! I'll analyse the hand in post #10.

With QJs in the cutoff, I think it's OK to call a raise, as this is a decent suited connector that can flop some good draws. Ideally, more players will enter the pot, improving your implied odds of winning a big pot if you make a monster hand. Here, however, you're heads up. The flop comes AT8, which is an interesting one, because you have a well concealed "double belly-buster" draw, as a K or a 9 will give you a straight. Surprisingly, the villain doesn't make a continuation bet on this flop, so it would seem he doesn't have an ace. I think it's OK to take a stab at the pot, because villain might fold, so you'd take the pot down with queen high, which is always nice. You could also check behind in position and take a free card if you desire. As played, you bet 8c into 15c, which is fine, but then the villain makes a check-raise. This is usually a show of great strength, and often indicates two pairs or a set. Villain made it 18c, meaning you need to call 10c into a pot that will be 51c. You just about have the right odds to make a profitable call. You were exceptionally lucky on the turn. A 9 comes to give you the nut straight. It's very odd to see villain check again after raising the flop. Betting for value is appropriate and I like your sizing. Shockingly, villain check-raises all in. He could be going crazy with pocket aces or a set of 10s, but you're obviously calling with the nuts. You get it in, and villain shows a surprising hand. J7s also has a straight, but it's not as good as yours. Villain shouldn't really have raised this hand pre-flop in his position (J7s is quite weak) but I can see why he check-raised the flop now. He had a combo flush/straight draw, so he had lots of chances to win.
The river is basically a blank, so you drag a nice pot. You couldn't possibly win any more than you did, because you were all in. In a heads up pot, getting a full double up is a rare treat. Nice hand!

                        Hope this helps!

                        Cheers,
                        Arty
