Hand replay Well. I got a monster hole cards, so I wanted to go big. And what was better, I catched AA with a K kicker. Great deal But I must say, I was surprised, why the other players wanted to go All-in with me...Maybe they would have 2 pair, I thought, but I was too good to not to raise bigtime. And at the end, the last Ace has saved me. Pfuu. I'm really interested what you think about this hand. And the last thing, I passed the course.

Hi 1Exiltruman1! With AKs, I get a limper in front of me and I'm going to make a standard raise, which is to 3BB+1BB for each limper. Due to this, I will raise to 40. I do not want to raise to more or less than this, as players that bet more with better cards and less with marginal ones are basically turning their cards face-up to their observant opponents. I see a 3-way flop where I hit top pair/top kicker on a wet board (many straight draws out there). I now have an opp make an abnormally small bet. Bets post-flop need to be sized based on the pot size, number of opps and board texture. With 2 opps, a standard bet is 2/3 pot. Normally when opps make these small bets, they're trying to price in a draw, so I definitely need to raise here and I will raise by 2/3 pot to 893 chips. I now get a min-raise and a call of it. This puts me in a really bad spot as any of them could have two pair. I'm going to call here and re-evaluate on the turn as I really don't want to be all-in with 1 pair. Over-valuing one pair is a mistake that a number of cash game players make and it will cost them a large amount of money doing so in the long run. In poker, yes, any hand can get lucky, but the way to win long term is to make +EV plays and to get my chips in when I'm ahead, not when I'm behind. Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.umbup: John (JWK24)

                Step Two

Use your first buy-in to only play the 1/2 cent real money FULL RING tables on PokerStars. Do not play any other type of game other than this. Post one hand that you had difficulty with here in this thread using the hand replayer and we will analyze it for you.

Please watch the following video and answer the question below.

List 3 reasons why a player may want to make a big bet?

Then study the Cash Game course and once your happy have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this.

So you have 3 things to do to earn your next bonus.

                1) Play the 1/2 cent Real Money tables and post an interesting hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer.
                2) Watch the Bet Sizing video and answer the question below it.
                3) Study and pass the Cash Game quiz.

                Best of Luck!
