Hi, Hand Analysis We are sitting with about 80bb and I'd be generally looking to play only strong value hands AK AQ AJs TT JJ QQ KK AA as we will be at a positional disadvantage post flop being in the small blind. Also, when the villain raises 4x the big blind from early position, this is usually an indicator of strength. Post flop we have top pair, the hand kind of plays itself but there are things that need to be factored in before getting our stack all in, 1.) What are the villains tendencies? 2.) Do we have any specific reads? 3.) What better hands will fold and what worse hands will call? 4.) What range am I trying to get value from when raising or betting? Hope this helps. CannonLee

                      Step Two

Use your first buy-in to only play the 1/2 cent real money FULL RING tables on PokerStars. Do not play any other type of game other than this. Post one hand that you had difficulty with here in this thread using the hand replayer and we will analyze it for you.

Then study the Cash Game course and once your happy have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this.

Hi, Hand Analysis We are sitting with a 110bb stack UTG (under the gun) I'd make my open sizing 3x the big blind, this will help ensure to build a pot post flop and extract value! Post flop this is like the worst flop we could ask for A Q x texture! There is a saying in poker, "There are three ways to play pocket Jacks, none of which are the right way!" But none the less that doesn't mean the villain could have a range of Ax or Qx given their pre-flop action of just flat calling our min raise open. Your bet sizing is fine as it will not inflate the pot to much, but I'd bet 2/3 pot! On the turn we have the as a blocker to some flush combos and this is a perfect turn card to either check back to catch our flush or barrel and semi-bluff to a flush, again I'd make my bet sizing about 2/3 pot for value. On the river, we are put to a tough decision, now the villain leads in to us...did you have any specific reads? If they had an ace would they really be taking a pot control line on the flop and turn of check>call, I'd expect at some point during the hand they would have raised. This villain is trying to represent a flush, but we have one blocker to some possible combos! Nice hero call! Hope this helps. CannonLee
