            Hey There,

Lets take a look at your hand.

            Starting Hand Strenght:

Your starting hand strenght here is poor. Ok, you are holding suited cards but this is often not very helpful post-flop. The cards are also of low value and most of the time the flop will not help you with these starting hands. Better to throw these away and move on.

            Position:

You might be getting a good price to call these limpers but remember that you will be out of position post-flop against many players. This is not a good position to be in because your opponents have the advantage of seeing what your move will be before they take any action.

            Bluffing:

In play money games and in micro-stakes real money games bluffing will not be profitable in the long term. Most players at this level only bet when they have a made hand. OK, it checked round to you and the turn card has given you a lot more outs but you still are not holding a MADE HAND and checking to see what your opponents do would be wiser. If they bet we should assume they have a made hand and we fold. If they check it back around then we get to see the river card without having to invest any more chips into the pot. We can then evaluate depending on what river card comes, in this case it hasn't helped us so it's an easy fold.

A semi-bluff would have been a much better option here if our hand had any showdown value at all but in this case it did not.

              Brilliant!

You've done all 3 tasks and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job!

              Step Two

Use your first buy-in to only play the 1/2 cent real money FULL RING tables on PokerStars. Do not play any other type of game other than this. Post one hand that you had difficulty with here in this thread using the hand replayer and we will analyze it for you.

Please watch the following video and answer the question below.

List 3 reasons why a player may want to make a big bet?

Then study the Cash Game course and once your happy have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this.

So you have 3 things to do to earn your next bonus.

              1) Play the 1/2 cent Real Money tables and post an interesting hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer.
              2) Watch the Bet Sizing video and answer the question below it.
              3) Study and pass the Cash Game quiz.

Let us know as soon as you have all 3 tasks complete and we will award you with your next buy-in.

              Best of Luck!

Hi moskito159 There are two points worth noting in this hand. Firstly, this is your first hand at the table and you bought in out of turn. Never do this! I strongly advise you to check the "wait for big blind" button. You can use the time to start getting reads/notes on the other players. Paying out of turn only costs 1 bb, but this adds up fast. Normally you will not get playable hands and just be giving money away. There is no exception to this rule. You were dealt AK which is a strong hand and the action folds to you in late position. Raising as you did is good. However, I would prefer making a standard 3bb raise to 6c. With such a good hand and position, you want to get a caller. Moreover, make sure you are not adjusting your betsize according to the strength of your hand. That would be an easy tell for opponents to pick up on and take advantage of. Betting standard sizes conceals your hand strength whether it be AA or 72o. As far as the actual hand is concerned, I'm not sure where you had problems or questions. You raised and they folded winning you the blinds. Pretty standard. For future hands, I would suggest you post hands in which you were unsure how to play, or hands where you lost your stack if that occurs. Even bette, include your notes/read on the villain GL and have fun at the tableumbup: Roland GTX

was this a good fold? considering the amount of chips bet by the opponent on the river id say he hit a flush.alternatively should i have bet bigger when i was the clear favourite on the turn?
