Hi wollllland, Nice job with this handumbup: There are three spots of interest to note. Firstly, preflop be careful with unsuited gappers. They don't have nearly as much potential as true suited connectors. He you are on the button and there are two limpers. This makes it a good spot to limp along as you did. You flop top pair which is good. It is definately worth raising as you did. Be careful if you get resistance though. You may be facing QJ, QK, AQ type hands that have a better kicker than yours. Finally, I am very glad you didn't bet the river. The A is not a good card for you. The only hands that are likely to call a bet are the ones beating you. Checking as you did was perfect. GL and have fun at the tables! Roland GTX

I'm very pleased to hear you are finding the analyses so valuable and useful. Brilliant! You've done all 3 tasks and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job! Step Two Use your first buy-in to only play the 1/2 cent real money FULL RING tables on PokerStars. Do not play any other type of game other than this. Post one hand that you had difficulty with here in this thread using the hand replayer and we will analyze it for you. Please watch the following video and answer the question below. List 3 reasons why a player may want to make a big bet? Then study the Cash Game course and once your happy have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this. So you have 3 things to do to earn your next bonus. 1) Play the 1/2 cent Real Money tables and post an interesting hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer. 2) Watch the Bet Sizing video and answer the question below it. 3) Study and pass the Cash Game quiz. Let us know as soon as you have all 3 tasks complete and we will award you with your next buy-in. Best of Luck! flophitter umbup:

Hi wollllland! I am very upset with you! Not really, but perhaps that is a method to keep you playing tight. If your inner voice starts whispering "Roland would not like this move" take that as a warning not to make it... I'll be a little red wizard looking over your shoulder First hand Your hand is not strong enough to 3-bet with, but I'm pretty sure you know that already. So, les's ask ourselves "Is this a good spot to bluff?" You didn't post a read on the villain. So, let's assume he is an unknown. What can we infer from what we see. 1. Villain has a deep stack. Usually means decent player, but might mean he got lucky. 2. His pf raise was larger than normal. This means we need to invest more than normal in our bluff 3-bet. 3. Villain has position on us. If this hand goes post flop we are in big trouble. 4. Our hand has little potential. We don't have an A and we don't have suited connectors. 5. The villain raised from the CO. His range may include some weaker hands, but is weighted more to the range that is actually ahead of us. 6. There is no need to run bluffs like this at 2NL. It is high risk. Whereas simply value betting strong hands is low risk and high value. In other words, there are plenty of good reasons to just fold in this spot and without a very good read, no good reasons to bluff. As played, I like your bet sizing and that you followed through with a barrel on the flop. Check-folding after that was your only good choice. NOTE: Please try to stick to full ring tables that are actually filled. Playing short handed will make it harder for you to be profitable because you will be forced to play more hands with marginal holdings. I suggest adjusting the Filter in the Holdem Lobby to only show tables with 8 players. That way, when you sit down, the table will be full. That's what I do Second hand : This is a good starting hand from middle position. Your preflop bet size is great. You flop top pair, there is 15 cents in the pot and you only have 36 cents behind. You need to decide now if you want to commit your stack to this hand now. The villain may have AJ, AQ or AK, but I think you want to take a chance and get all your chips in the middle. Leading with a bet is good. However, it was a bit big for this dry board. I would recommend about 50% of the pot, or 8 cents in this case. We want weaker hands to call. Betting more may get pocket pairs or 7x hands to fold. The reraise looks strong, but we will often see villains going a bit wild with weaker hands when facing a shorter stack like yours. If you were deeper stacked, then we could fold. But here I would call as you did and hope you are ahead or that you catch a 10. Don't stress the results in this one. Your short stack limited your options. Think about your flop bet size though. GL and have fun at the tables! Roland GTX
