                Hi Shikkshak!

This hand looks a like a play money tournament hand. The Bankroll Builder promotion is based on ring games where the blinds don't increase. Ring games have a different strategy to tournaments, so find the standard 9-handed ring games in the lobby for the rest of this promotion.

99 is a strong hand, but in a full ring cash game, it's only marginally profitable when played in early position, because you'll often be called and see a flop containing overcards. Playing out of position is neither fun nor profitable except with monster hands like TT+ and AK, so I'd recommend you fold 99 in this particular seat (under the gun). You may be able to open raise with it in the second seat (UTG+1) and it's certainly profitable to play it in later positions. When your expectation is negative or only slightly positive, then there's no harm in open-folding.

In tournament situations, position and stack sizes probably have more importance than your actual cards. Here you have over 23 big blinds to start the hand. I think this is too large a stack for an open shove. You shouldn't usually be going all in pre-flop until you're below 15bb. I'd prefer a standard raise of 3bb (360 chips). If someone comes over the top with a raise, they are representing a bigger pair and you can fold for no additional loss, as you'll still have a playable stack of 20bb. When you open shove 23bb, it's hard to get called by worse. You'll only get action from hands that crush you. That's what happens here. JJ and QQ see a great chance to double up, and your pair is a huge underdog against these hands.

                Hope this helps!
                Cheers,
                Arty

                      Brilliant!

You've done all 3 tasks and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job!

                      Step Two

Use your first buy-in to only play the 1/2 cent real money FULL RING tables on PokerStars. Do not play any other type of game other than this. Post one hand that you had difficulty with here in this thread using the hand replayer and we will analyze it for you.

Please watch the following video and answer the question below.

List 3 reasons why a player may want to make a big bet?

Then study the Cash Game course and once your happy have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this.

So you have 3 things to do to earn your next bonus.

                      1) Play the 1/2 cent Real Money tables and post an interesting hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer.
                      2) Watch the Bet Sizing video and answer the question below it.
                      3) Study and pass the Cash Game quiz.

Let us know as soon as you have all 3 tasks complete and we will award you with your next buy-in.

                      Best of Luck!
