Bankroll builder session feedback I have 2 questions about this hand 1 - after the 10 of clubs hits the board it completes my straight but it also completes any flush draws out there so when villain 2 raises even though it is a very small raise i opt not to raise since there are still alot of action behind me was i right no to raise there? 2 - after no one showed real strength on the turn i figure i am probably good on the river and so should go for some value, i have under represented the strength of my hand so far and can probably het value from many 1/2 pair kind of hands, what do you think of the sizing of the bet and was my line correct and i just got unluck that villain 9 had a bigger straight

Hi fitadylan! With 78o from the BB, when everyone limps, I'm more than happy to check and see a free flop. The flop totally misses me, so when it's checked to me, I need to check behind and hope to see a free card that helps me. If anyone behind me bets here, I'll fold since I have nothing. The turn gives me the bottom end of a straight, but also completes a club flush draw. I now get the SB making an abnormally small bet and due to this, I need to raise here for three reasons. To get value for my hand, to see where I'm at in the hand (if anyone has a higher straight or flush) and to protect my hand against a fourth club hitting. Because of the large number of opps in the hand, I'm going to make a pot-sized raise to 16. If I raise smaller or just call the really small bet and someone outdraws me on the river, then it would be my own fault for losing, as I gave the opps the correct odds to draw to beat me. The river is a blank and I'm going to make a value bet here of 3/4 pot (18 chips). I'd normally make a pot-sized bet against this many opps if it were on the flop or turn, but I want to size my bet so that hands worse than mine will call. Villain 9 really missed out on a large amount of value here, as if I were them, I'd have made a pot-sized raise on the turn and then raised again on the river (between 1/2 pot and a pot-sized raise depending on the number of opps that called the turn raise). Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.umbup: John (JWK24)

Step Two Use your first buy-in to only play the 1/2 cent real money FULL RING tables on PokerStars. Do not play any other type of game other than this. Post one hand that you had difficulty with here in this thread using the hand replayer and we will analyze it for you. Please watch the following video and answer the question below. List 3 reasons why a player may want to make a big bet? Then study the Cash Game course and once your happy have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this. So you have 3 things to do to earn your next bonus. 1) Play the 1/2 cent Real Money tables and post an interesting hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer. 2) Watch the Bet Sizing video and answer the question below it. 3) Study and pass the Cash Game quiz. Let us know as soon as you have all 3 tasks complete and we will award you with your next buy-in. Best of Luck! Raiser umbup:

Hey again so i've watched the video, and passed the course 3 reasons : 1 to build a pot with a strong hand 2 to apply pressure on opponents 3 to bluff now the hand - i reraised villain 7 because his raise looked like he was trying to isolate the limper and take a small stab at the stealing the blinds so i could re steal his steal it worked but was it too risky?

Hi Fitadylan! I'll take a look at this hand.

I like the way you thought about this hand. It's a lot more advanced thinking that most beginnners have. I do think it's a little risky, however, especially at 2NL, where villains will routinely call 3-bet reraises with random hands. I'd prefer you made this resteal play with a hand that actually has some value, or that can flop some equity with a draw. A hand like A5s or 87s is good for this. Q4 is just too weak, and will be very difficult to play out of position on the flop if you get called.
When you've got stronger reads/notes on villains, so know their tendencies, plays like this are a great way to boost your winrate. For now, though, when you're trying to build a bankroll, I'd recommend you stick to the basic guildelines and play a tight range of hands that have post-flop value. You don't want to be risking too much money when your roll is so small.

Hope this helps! I look forward to seeing more hands from you in the future!
                          Cheers,
                          Arty
