Hi bobmestre! The first thing that I need to point out is that you played a 6-max table instead of a FULL RING (9 player table). Once you receive a bonus in this promotion, playing anything other than 1/2 cent FULL RING will make you ineligible to receive any further bonuses thru this promotion. With J2s from the button, there is a limp in front of me. While I am in position, I have a very bad hand, so I'm going to muck this preflop. Just because I may have an ace or suited cards does not mean that the hand is playable. If I had Jx suited, where the other card could be combined with the J for a straight, then I'd be happy to make a standard raise to 3BB+1BB for each limper (160 chips here), but with a hand that cannot make a straight too, I need to muck it as it's not a strong enough hand to play. The flop misses me totally and there is a bet and a call in front of me. Since I have absolutely nothing, I need to muck. I want to be putting my chips into the pot when I'm ahead, not when I'm behind, so with nothing, I clearly need to get out of the hand and look for a better situation. I definitely don't want to raise, as I'm just going to lose more chips on average in the hand if I do this time after time. Same on the turn.. I have nothing, so I need to fold and get out of the hand. Playing at the micro stakes levels, there are so many opps that will call with any two cards that bluffing will be a losing cause in the long run and due to that, it's something that I do not want to do at these tables, as by doing so, while I may win a hand here and there, I will LOSE a large number of chips in the long run by bluffing. Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.umbup: John (JWK24)

                hi JWK24,

                thanks for your help.
i completely understand your comments about the hand i posted. and in a way the reason that made me post it was exactly that i think i played terrible and still won the hand just on the bluff.
anyway, thanks again for your help.

about the FULL RING table, sorry, i didn't really notice that the hand had to be in a FULL RING.
and because of that i now have a question:

-how can i find a FULL RING? (i think i found the answer already)
-and, if on a FULL RING, can i still post a hand if we are less people still at the table?

(do you want me to post here another hand, FULL RING, play money?)

i have one more question, i hope it's ok to post these questions here...
-how can i find a "1/2 cent FULL RING" for the future task?

                  BB - 2 cents
                  FULL RING

                  ...

                        Brilliant!

You've done all 3 tasks and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job!

                        Step Two

Use your first buy-in to only play the 1/2 cent real money FULL RING tables on PokerStars. Do not play any other type of game other than this. Post one hand that you had difficulty with here in this thread using the hand replayer and we will analyze it for you.

Please watch the following video and answer the question below.

List 3 reasons why a player may want to make a big bet?

Then study the Cash Game course and once your happy have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this.

So you have 3 things to do to earn your next bonus.

                        1) Play the 1/2 cent Real Money tables and post an interesting hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer.
                        2) Watch the Bet Sizing video and answer the question below it.
                        3) Study and pass the Cash Game quiz.

Let us know as soon as you have all 3 tasks complete and we will award you with your next buy-in.

                        Best of Luck!

3 reasons to make a big bet:
to put a lot of pressure on the opponents, to bluff people with decent hands and to gain value from very strong hands.

the hand i last posted is a good example of the 1st reason in the answer. the 2nd or the 3rd reasons might apply but that we don't know...
