Hi 82112164! The first tip that I'd give to you is that when you sit at a ring game, always wait for the BB to start playing. Paying extra blinds over and over will be a large drain to your bankroll. With 88 from the CO, when the opps limp before me, since my stack and the opp's stack is over 15BB, I'm going to check (limp behind) and try to setmine, hit an 8 on the flop. I don't want to start a raising war here, as while 88 is a made hand, it's a very marginal hand with a large number of opps. I miss the flop that has two overcards, including an A. Since any of the opps could easily have an A, when it gets to me, I need to muck here and look for a better situation to get my chips into. Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.umbup: John (JWK24)

Brilliant! You've done all 3 tasks and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job! Step Two Use your first buy-in to only play the 1/2 cent real money FULL RING tables on PokerStars. Do not play any other type of game other than this. Post one hand that you had difficulty with here in this thread using the hand replayer and we will analyze it for you. Please watch the following video and answer the question below. List 3 reasons why a player may want to make a big bet? Then study the Cash Game course and once your happy have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this. So you have 3 things to do to earn your next bonus. 1) Play the 1/2 cent Real Money tables and post an interesting hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer. 2) Watch the Bet Sizing video and answer the question below it. 3) Study and pass the Cash Game quiz. Let us know as soon as you have all 3 tasks complete and we will award you with your next buy-in. Best of Luck! Raiser umbup:

                          Hi 82112164,

I like hands like 66, because they are pretty easy to play. My usual plan is to call a normal raise (3bb) and see if I can flop a set of trips. If I hit a set, I'll be betting and raising, trying to get all in with my monster hand. If I don't flop a set (or sometimes an open-ended straight draw, if the flop comes 754), then I'm done with the hand.
Here, everything is standard. You made the pre-flop call. The flop was K73, so there were two overcards to your pair. The pre-flop raiser made a continuation bet, which says "I have a king or AA" and you made a good fold. Many beginners would make the mistake of calling here, but you kept your discipline. As I like to say, "You didn't spike, so take a hike!".
Your fold was the right play. Maybe next time you'll be luckier and spike a set. (It will happen about 1 in 8 times you have a pocket pair, so keep set-mining and you should eventually strike gold!)

                          Cheers,
                          Arty
