I watched the video and i passed the test. In this hand i started short stacked while utg2 with suited QJ. The button goes all in PF the 3rd time in a row and i decided to call this time. The flop is really bad for me, but i get lucky on the turn and win the hand. Did i risk too much? He tried twice in a row to all in PF before that hand.

Hi laurabosnea! UTG+2 in this hand is villain 5. You're actually in the BB with QJs in this hand. With two limps, then a shove (by a maniac), I have QJs in the BB. While this hand does have potential and I would definitely not mind seeing a free flop with it, it's not a strong enough hand to call a preflop shove with. If I had AJ or AQ, then I'd call, but QJs isn't strong enough, IMO, to call. When I'm up against a maniac player like this, I'm going to be more selective and then to call their shove only when I have a hand that is well ahead of their range (big aces, pairs). I want to muck all of my marginal non-made hands, like QJs. Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.umbup: John (JWK24)

Brilliant! You've done all 3 tasks and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job! Step Two Use your first buy-in to only play the 1/2 cent real money FULL RING tables on PokerStars. Do not play any other type of game other than this. Post one hand that you had difficulty with here in this thread using the hand replayer and we will analyze it for you. Please watch the following video and answer the question below. List 3 reasons why a player may want to make a big bet? Then study the Cash Game course and once your happy have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this. So you have 3 things to do to earn your next bonus. 1) Play the 1/2 cent Real Money tables and post an interesting hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer. 2) Watch the Bet Sizing video and answer the question below it. 3) Study and pass the Cash Game quiz. Let us know as soon as you have all 3 tasks complete and we will award you with your next buy-in. Best of Luck! Raiser umbup:

In this hand i start on the button with pocket eights and call a raise pre-flop. On a rainbow flop i get instant full house and i try to play it slow not to scare off somebody that might think i hold an ace. On the turn villain_1 raises more then half the pot and i assume he has an ace. Villain_2 calls, so i assume he has a strong hand too, but i decide to go ahead and play. I was afraid of A3 or A8, though the chances were slim. On the river i get a 10 of diamonds and i don't even have to raise because i am forced to go all in. I win the game, villain_1 had 2 pairs, Q8, villain_2 had AK suited. Is this a hand u go full raise with confidence or you should slow play it? I just attended Dave's class and learned that the reasons people make big bets are the following: a) to bluff people off good hands b) to gain value on really good hands c) to get protection against strong draws I already passed the Cash Game quiz. Looking forward for my next task. Thanks

Hi Laura! I'll take a look at this hand for you.

I like your analysis of this hand. It more or less played out perfectly for you.
With 88 otb, I'm happy to call a raise and go set-mining. If you don't flop a set or better on the flop, don't put another cent in the pot. Here you flop the small full. (A8 would be the big full and would win your stack).
I don't recommend slowplaying in general, but flatting on the flop is fine this time, partly because you want both villains to stick around when they are likely to be drawing very slim (so you win extra money) and partly because your remaining stack is small. You'll be going all in on the turn if there is any action, because any bet commits you. (And you're never folding a full house anyway!)
When there's a bet and a raise on the turn, just go all in. There's $1.57 in the pot and you only have 73c left, so it's time to ship it. At least one - and probably both - villains will call. Against a villain with A9+, you'll have to dodge 3 outs for a better full house, but the vast majority of the time, you're going to triple up here. Well played!

Good luck with the next stage of this promotion!

                      Cheers,
                      Arty
