  • Bankroll builder

Hi, everyone, I am new here.

I would like to try the bankroll builder challenge. Can someone assist me?

I already passed the Basics quiz with 60%. I took it by accident, not knowing I would not be able to retake it. I did not really study the topics in deep yet, just answered the questions based on what I remembered from a few years ago when I last played.

Hi Fasolt13, You are eligible for the Bank Roll Builder promo!umbup: The next thing that you will need to do is to attend one of the 'Getting Started With Pokerstars' live training sessions. Please let me know after you have attended this session. Also, you can be practicing on the play money NL ring tables and please post a hand that you were not sure about, using the hand replayer. Here's a short video on how to use the Hand Replayer

I attended Getting Started and two other sessions with Gareth yesterday. Here is one hand I won with pocket aces. While I am happy how it turned out, I am not sure if there is anything I should have done differently, perhaps betting more agressively preflop. I'll play more hands and post some problematic pots as well.

Hi Fasolt13, Thanks for attending the 'Getting Started' session yesterday. Don't worry about the other two sessions for now as you will have to attend those again later in the promotion. Also thanks for posting this hand for reveiw. I will ask one of the hand analysers to take a look at it for you and offer some feedback. Once he does this we can continue on from there. Here is another hand I won a hefty pot with. I just checked on the river, because I thought someone possibly made a straight. Not sure if it was the right thing to do, or if it really mattered.

Hi Fasolt13! With AA, I want to make a standard raise, which is to 3BB+1BB for each limper if there are no raises. With an opp that has raised in front of me, I want to raise to 3X their bet. Since they raised to 4, I will raise to 12. There are 2 calls, then an abnormally large raise to 102 that is called by another opp. Holding the best starting hand in hold-em, I'm going to re-raise here. Once again, I would make a standard raise (3X102) but since I don't have this many chips, I'll gladly shove my last 191 into the pot. I don't want to just call, as I do not want to let the opps see a flop that can beat me without having to pay to do so. With QT from UTG+1 I have a limp in front of me. Due to being out of position, this is not a strong enough hand to be playing, so I'm going to muck this preflop. From early position I only want to be playing premium hands and not to be playing marginal ones. Playing too many hands, especially marginal ones, when out of postion will be a large chip drain to my bankroll. If I was in the hand, I would make a pot sized bet (30) on the flop due to the large number of opps in the hand. When I hit two pair on the turn, I will once again make a pot-sized bet of 76. When I'm min-raised, I need to make a deciaion in the hand (raise or fold). If I raise, which I will do the overwhelming majority of the time here, I will make a standard raise to 3X the opp's bet, 3x140 or 420. I do not want to be min-raising, as I will be giving the opps the correct odds to draw to a straight or flush. When the opp shoves the river, I need to muck two pair here unless I have a specific read that this opp will bluff. Most opps that shove here will have a straight or a set and have me beat. Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.umbup: John (JWK24)

                    Hi Fasolt13!

Congrats on passing the quiz. You can always re-read any of the courses, but members cannot retake any of the quizzes. Your first buy-in will be credited into your account within 24 hours. Remember you can earn up to a total of $8 with this promotion.

Use this first buy-in to then only play the 1/2 cent real money FULL RING tables on PokerStars. Do not play any other type of game other than this. Don't worry if you lose this first buy-in as you will be able to earn another buy-in should this happen.

Use all that you have learned so far to try some real money games (1/2 cent tables). Post any hands that you have difficulty with here in this thread using the hand replayer and we will analyze them for you.

Also, please attend the 'Bet Sizing' live training session. This session can be found daily in the Live Training section.

Please let me know when you receive the buy-in and attend the training session.
