I'm wondering if I qualify for the bankroll builder promotion, I've completed all the courses, and won a few cents from the freeroll tournaments, but I have not made a deposit.

Hi headsortaill, You are eligible for the Bank Roll Builder promo!umbup: The next thing that you will need to do is to attend one of the 'Getting Started With Pokerstars' live training sessions. Please let me know after you have attended this session. Also, you can be practicing on the play money NL ring tables and please post a hand that you were not sure about, using the hand replayer. Here's a short video on how to use the Hand Replayer

Sorry, this hand was deleted by its owner
Was wondering if this was a bad call when villain_6 shoved all in on the river, I was trying to trap villain 1 because I knew he was loose and bluffed a lot, but the turn completed a straight draw so I didn't want to raise as the hand progressed, when villain_6 check-raised all in I think I would have folded this if it was a tournament, but I did win the hand, and I'm wondering if this was a bad call?

Hi headsortaill! My first recommendation for you is that you may want to try playing the full ring tables instead of the 6-max ones, as when you earn a buy-in for this promotion, you will ONLY be able to use it at full ring tables... or you will then be ineligible for any further buy-ins. With K9 from the SB, I'm either going to raise or fold preflop. By being in the SB, I have to play the entire hand out of position, which is a HUGE disadvantage. If I raise, it will be to 3BB+1BB for each limper, which here would be to 7BB or 14.... but the overwhelming majority of the time, especially if I do not have reads on the opps, I'm mucking this preflop. There are too many combiniations of cards where I can be outkicked and lose a large pot. The flop gives me top pair, but with a bad kicker. Since I'm out of position, I do not want to check after calling preflop. This type of play is way too passive and would get me into trouble, as I will have no clue whether I have the best hand or not. I'm going to make a lead bet of 1/2 pot here and see how the opps react to it. If they call, then I could easily be beat, so I will then not put another chip into the pot unless my hand improves. When the button makes a bet just under the size of the pot, since I do not have a good kicker here, I need to muck. The same thing on the turn, if I'm playing the hand, I need to make a 1/2 pot bet and with a check, I cannot call any sizable bet. On the river, with an opp that calls bets every street, my weak king is basically never going to be good here, so I need to muck. The key with this hand is to not play marginal hands from the blinds (unless I'm in the BB and see the flop for free). By playing this type of hand, it is a large chip leak and is a very common mistake that many players make. By playing the hand out of position, I have no information on the opponent and cannot play passively and check/call. On average, this will basically be just handing chips to the opponents that are in position and can take advantage of it. In this hand, villain 1 can't be trapped... because a player can't trap someone when they don't have the best hand and top pair with a weak kicker will be a losing hand here well over 90% of the time. Slowplaying hands online is something that I try to avoid whenever possible, as by giving the opps the correct odds to draw.. they will.. and they will end up hitting the draws on me and win larger pots than they should. Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.umbup: John (JWK24)

              Hi headsortaill!

Now we want to get you playing on the real money tables. Next up, and spend some time on this one , study the Poker Basic Course and take the basic assessment quiz at the end of that course.

Once you have passed this quiz your first buy-in will be credited into your account within 24 hours of letting us know that you have passed it. Remember you can earn up to a total of $8 with this promotion.

Use this first buy-in to then play the 1/2 cent real money FULL RING tables only on PokerStars. Post back here when you get your first buy-in and start playing these games and we'll continue on from there.

                  Hi headsortaill!

Congrats on passing the quiz. Your first buy-in will be credited into your account within 24 hours. Remember you can earn up to a total of $8 with this promotion.

Use this first buy-in to then play the 1/2 cent real money FULL RING tables only on PokerStars. Do not play any other type of game other than this. Don't worry if you lose this first buy-in as you will be able to earn another buy-in should this happen.

Use all that you have learned so far to try some real money games (1/2 cent tables). Post any hands that you have difficulty with here in this thread using the hand replayer and we will analyse them for you.

Also, please attend the 'Bet Sizing' live training session. This session can be found daily in the Live Training section.

When you've done all this we will move you onto the next stage.

Thought it was a blind steal attempt, so I thought I might be able to bluff him out of the pot, got lucky and flopped 2 pair.

Wondering if this was the right fold? The guy that raised was playing fairly tight, and for some reason I just felt like he had KK QQ or AA

Was this too risky ? His raise size and the speed of it just felt like a bluff because he thought I was weak

Your bet sizing is never going to succeed in restealing (bluffing him out of the pot). Review the Cash Game basics course, your 3-bet should be to roughly 3x the total size of his bet, which here would be .18c. You min-raised to .10c, so he's only got to call .04c more into a pot of .16c, he's not folding even his steals to this, it's too good a price to take the flop.

                              Hi headsortaill!

It's time to now attend the Cash Basics live training session.

Also, study the Cash Game course and once your happy have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this.

Once you've passed the quiz and attended the live training session, post back here and we'll continue on tomorrow.
