  • Thank you Moderators!

Last night I saw something I thought was really disgusting and I would just like to voice my opinion. I am not going to mention any names so as not to embarrass anybody.

I saw a moderator ask a player to stop asking another player about his play from the co with QT when the player shoved right around 14 bbs. The reason I think is because he was using words like why are you donking off your chips and have you given up, and I think the Moderator thought he was insulting the other player. Truthfully I would have thought so too, the other player could have chosen his words better and said something like " why did you shove there I don't understand that play." instead of why are you donking off your chips and I thought you were better than that. Anyway the player explained that he wasn't insulting the other player and that would have been the end of it, but another player that wasn't even at the table started verbally abusing the Moderator.

There is no excuse for that at all!!! The Mods. here have a job to do and they do it very well. If you ask me they are too nice, and give far too many warnings to the same people over and over before any action is taken. The players usually have to argue with the mods. before it goes beyond a warning. At least in the few times I have seen players get suspended or banned.

Lets try to remember why they are here. To keep the chat clean and free of cheating and abuse so that the games are more enjoyable for all of us. I am sure most of us have been in the open client and seen players abusing other players and swearing when they lose a hand. The Moderators here are just trying to stop things like that before they get out of hand, so if a Moderator asks you not to do something please be polite and just stop doing it. Together we can end suspensions and bans

A big Thank you to the Moderators for keeping the games fun

If you guys think this post is unnecessary or shouldn't be here you can remove it with no hard feelings from me. I was just really bothered by the verbal abuse I watched a Moderator endure and wanted to say something about it.

    Howdy,

I would also like to thank the mods...................but let me say this first...................

Think we need to relax a bit here, this is a site for 18 and over, an adult site of sorts,

Now I agree that any type of eff word or a racist term or rant, or going after your mother should never to allowed,

But being called a donk/nit or having someone call out your play happens in every online and live tourney that I had ever played,

To ban someone for this, is a bit much I say,

Think we all need to learn how to handle these things, so you can handle them in the real world, don't you think?

What I do love about my home club and the PSO home club is.....................

Most times we can have a laugh at each other, and yes some cat fights to get into some ones head, pure clean fun as I see it,....real poker playing with real people.

Anyways......................that's my 2 cents on the matter, going to start drinking now so I will be good and ready for todays game.

Thanks mods, I would never want your job.

    Cheers all

The way I see it eff is that you have rules for your club and you expect people to follow them, and they have rules and expect people to follow them as well. They don't have a lot of rules but I believe they are in place for good reasons. I think they have to be a little stricter also because they accept anybody that applies and is a member of pso. As opposed to picking and choosing their members. Your or I may not be offended by little cuss words but there are a lot of adults who find even the smallest cuss word offensive.

As far as calling somebody a donk or a fish I think that shows weak character. I feel so strongly about that, that I ask John to suspend me on the spot if he ever caught me calling somebody a donk or a fish. That is not to say I don't get emotional every once in awhile about a persons play but I understand that everybody is not on the same level and people make bad plays all the time. When I feel I have to verbalize my negative emotions I just tell my cat what I think of the play.

See what I mean we have different opinions about some of the same things and we will probably never agree on them and that is why they have the stricter rules in place to try to accommodate everybody.

      Cheers eff

        Fire........

It is not my home club rules, it's real life young man,

If we were in a grade school play ground, or a church poker club.......

        I would agree with you,

But this is an 18 and older poker site,

Mind games/chat is a part of the game,

        Anyways,

        Good luck to you sir,

        Cheers

Well, I'll give you one that shocked me last week in Vegas.

Aria (one of the top casinos for poker) for tournaments now, is a talk-free poker room for tourneys. You can't even talk about prior hands without getting a penalty.

If you talk during a hand, it's a penalty and your cards are immediately dead.

They were VERY clear about it before each of the 2 tourneys I played there started.

Saw them give out multiple penalties for it too (one under std rules they'd have gotten as was talking about the hand in progress and angle shooting, trying to get the guy to call a bet).. the other was for talking about the previous hand, which would be fine anywhere else.

              John (JWK24)

P.S. There were a number of ladies in those tourneys too (more than in any of the other ones I've played). The evening one had 2-3 per starting table.

No worries Eff, I didn't want to start a big debate because really there isn't anything to debate. It's their club and their rules we as players don't run the club.

I have skype if you really want to discuss it in depth we can probably do a voice chat or something but I don't think that will change much. We may just have to agree to disagree on this subject.

have a great weekend and happy fathers day if you're a dad

                  cheers.

Anything that's not talking about any poker hands is ok. For example, 2 guys at my table found out they were from the same hometown and one invited the other to their homegame.. that's ok. .. just nothing about any current nor previous hands.
