  • Help a newbie to understand what to play

I'm playing mostly Texas Holdem, I do not play Omaha or any other genres. I have been a member for quite a while, usually depositing ~30USD, getting ups and downs until I lose it all.

I haven't paid a lot of attention of what to play, and usually was just playing some 27 player SNG's.

So a few years have passed and I want to start again, my bank roll is a bit above 80USD at the moment, have played a few times Poker Skill League Qualifiers and at the moment I'm 177th with a chance to qualify for skill league. However I need to generate some turnover to not to fall out of skill league (if I qualify that is and don't suck much next month).

So my question is, are there any other tournaments which are worth to play for a begginer (because I'm lost and more or less I am confused of the amount of tournaments)? Or what you suggest playing for a begginer to generate at least 20VPP a month

    I need some guidance!

    Hi flyby99,

Welcome to PokerSchoolOnline! The best advice I can offer is to play the games you enjoy the most. The more you enjoy them the better you should become at playing them as you get practice because you will pay more attention. Just remember whatever it is to follow good bankroll management and have plenty of buy-ins for that level of game so you don't go broke. Exactly how nitty you need to be with your bankroll depends on what you can afford really but if you ask me there's nothing wrong with just grinding out some volume at the lowest stakes.
