  • The Value Of Freerolls

I just thought i would put this out there for those of you frustrated at the playing styles encountered in the low stakes or free rolls.

I've recently turned my game around but once i done that i decided to give myself a week off and check myself out. I requested a full audit from pokerstars from the beginning of my account which turns out to be back in 2010.

After going through all the information and categorizing it i learned something i didn't really know.

    The value of freerolls.
Now most of us play the premiership or open league freerolls and only ever see a few cents in prize money but the other freerolls that are available can have substantial rewards.

In total i have played over 1200 freerolls in the past 4 years. Now i must confess the vast majority of them have ended with no prize or a very small prize but in total, I have won over $220 from outright freerolls.
The prizes to note was a £135 Win in a british freeroll and a $35 win from a big bang cash but you can see that if you don't wish to risk your own money then freerolls can get you more than started on the path to poker stardom.

In short:- Freerolls are mainly a gamble and are not really a place to evaluate your game but if you stick with them you can turn a tidy profit. And if you wish to start your bankroll from $0 then playing as many as you can will certainly help you on your way.
