  • Good Afternoon!!

hi, I have just joined today.

Have been playing a little on 888 poker, as they gave me £5 free to get started!!

    I lost that!!!!!!!

But reloaded twice, and now have a little money to play with. Certainly I need educating!

Anyway, hi to all, hopefully have a chat sometime, meanwhile I will be doing my training school before I lump my life savings into Pokerstars!!

See you soon and Good Luck to you----Richard in the UK.

Thanks for the warm welcome Dan.......

I will have a look at your tips to get started.

Meanwhile, I have just managed to register for the Open Pokerskill Freeroll which starts in 5 mins.

OMG...you have to be quick on the button to get in don't you? WOW!

hmm...it was a bit agressive that one, so I waited for a good hand and got kk in the small blind, to a really agreesive player who had raised all in before the flop....so I went all in.......he had an ace and a four. he won....doh!!!!!!!!

The key in these is to survive as long as you can without any early exits. If you called a preflop shove with KK and the opp had A4, you made the correct play, just got unlucky.

Well hi there Richard, and welcome to the forum!

As JW said, you just got unlucky and these hands happens all the time in the open league.
I, like you, wanted to know more about the game before losing more $$$. So I started playing
only the open league and I started to study my a** off.

Ive created a blog which I will try to update regularly with what I learn on my way so if you are interested, be sure to check it out
